Saturday, September 5, is reportedly the final day for both Sunshine Churros kiosks at Disney Springs. The West Side and Marketplace stands are expected to close permanently after Saturday’s operations, ending two dedicated walk-up spots for classic and gourmet churros at Walt Disney World’s shopping and dining district.
The closure was reported Friday by WDWMagic. As of publication, Walt Disney World has not posted a public announcement explaining the decision or naming replacements. Disney’s website still lists both Sunshine Churros locations and menus, making this a fast-moving change guests should verify before traveling specifically for a final order.
Both Disney Springs Sunshine Churros Kiosks Are Reportedly Closing
Sunshine Churros currently operates one kiosk in the Marketplace and another on the West Side. Disney’s official directory categorizes both as carts and kiosks, while Walt Disney World’s Marketplace menu and West Side menu list the same core offerings at each location.
The menu includes a classic cinnamon-sugar churro and gourmet versions with drizzle and dipping sauce. Listed gourmet flavors include Dulce de Leche, Oreo Cheesecake, Grandma’s Homemade Apple Pie, Salted Caramel Delight, Fruity Pebble Cereal, and Strawberry Cheesecake.
Sunshine Churros is not a table-service restaurant requiring a reservation. It is built around a spontaneous, walk-up purchase that fits naturally into a Disney Springs visit: grab a snack, keep shopping, and move on.
The reported closures follow other Disney Springs dining changes this year. Inside the Magic previously covered the removal of the West Side food trucks, another group of walk-up options that disappeared in June.
Another Casual Walk-Up Option Disappears
Losing two kiosks at once is more consequential than a single menu adjustment. It removes Sunshine Churros from both ends of the district rather than consolidating the concept into one remaining Disney Springs location.
That can feed an uncomfortable perception for budget-conscious visitors. Disney Springs still has quick-service counters, kiosks, snack windows, and ways to eat without booking a full restaurant meal, but losing another simple walk-up concept reduces the casual choices available.
That perception should not be confused with a confirmed corporate strategy. Disney has not said it is closing Sunshine Churros to push visitors toward more expensive restaurants, and there is no evidence establishing that motive.
