Credit: Inside the MagicImagine you’re enjoying a serene ride on Living with the Land after a long, hot day at EPCOT, and a large artificial tree branch comes crashing down from the ceiling…That was reality for one recent group of Walt Disney World Resort guests, who narrowly avoided the heavy debris hitting their boat. One Central Florida Disney Park guest happened to be recording the ride and shared a video of the incident on social media.
Living with the Land Accident
Last week, Instagram user @eartoearmagic shared a video taken during one of the opening scenes of Living with the Land at EPCOT. The Disney Park guests were traveling through the artificial natural scenes before entering the greenhouse and farming areas when a branch appeared to fall from the fake tree on the shore and into the water.
We were just enjoying a peaceful ride through Living With The Land in EPCOT … when the rainforest decided to branch out. 🌿😳
Right before our eyes, a tree limb took the leaf of faith and splashed down into the water! Guess it decided it was time to turn over a new leaf.
Looks like that branch was stumped with just hanging around and wanted to log in some swim time instead! 🌳💦

Although it isn’t clear exactly what fell into the water, it definitely looked like a fake branch from the tree on the left side of the ride set. Fortunately, it narrowly missed guests and didn’t appear to impede attraction operations.
Walt Disney World Resort did not issue a public statement on this incident at EPCOT last week. Living with the Land continues to operate normally in the wake of the incident.
