One of the best ways to celebrate summer in Central Florida is by visiting the water parks. There’s a specific kind of magic that only shows up at a water park once the sun starts going down. The crowds thin out, the heat finally breaks, and slides that felt brutally hot at 2 p.m. suddenly feel like the best idea you’ve had all day. Universal Orlando Resort built an entire event around that exact feeling last summer, and now it’s back for a second year, bigger than before.
Volcano Bay Nights is officially returning to Universal Orlando Resort, and the resort just added even more dates to an already packed summer lineup.

What Volcano Bay Nights Actually Is At Universal
For guests unfamiliar with the event, Volcano Bay Nights is a separately ticketed after-hours experience held on select evenings at Universal’s water park, Volcano Bay. The event gives ticket holders exclusive access to the park and its attractions from 7 to 11 p.m., with shorter wait times across the board thanks to limited capacity. It’s a noticeably different version of the park guests know during regular daytime hours, trading scorching midday sun for a beach-party atmosphere built specifically for the evening.
The event is open to guests ages 3 and up, making it one of the more family-friendly nighttime experiences at the resort. Inside, guests will find a live DJ, games, and activities, and DreamWorks character meet and greets featuring favorites from Shrek and Madagascar. Universal has described it fittingly as a nighttime beach bash, and that label tracks. Waturi Beach, already one of the park’s signature spots, becomes the center of the celebration once the music starts and the lights come up around Krakatau.
New Dates Just Added for 2026
When Volcano Bay Nights was first confirmed for 2026 back in March, the announced dates ran from May through August, spread across a handful of nights each month. Now, with summer in full swing, Universal has expanded that lineup with several additional nights, stretching the event further into the season and giving guests more flexibility to plan a visit around it.
The full 2026 schedule now includes multiple dates in June, July, and August, running all the way through August 21. Guests planning ahead should check the Universal Orlando Resort website directly for the complete, most current list of dates, since added nights can shift ticket availability quickly once demand picks up for popular weekends.

What’s Included With Your Ticket
Tickets for Volcano Bay Nights are priced at $99 per person, plus tax, the same price as last year’s event. That ticket includes access to the park and its attractions during event hours, the Beach Bash experience with live entertainment, DreamWorks character meet-and-greets, and a complimentary Coca-Cola Freestyle souvenir cup good for refills throughout the night. Guests can also expect specialty themed island treats included with admission, along with additional themed food and beverage items available for purchase if you want to make a full night of it.
For guests 21 and older, themed alcoholic beverages are available for purchase as well, though a valid photo I.D. is required to purchase and consume them.
Preferred Passholders can receive a 10 percent discount on tickets, while Premier Passholders receive 15 percent off. Both Preferred and Premier Passholders can also access discounts on food, non-alcoholic beverages, and merchandise during the event, which adds up nicely if you’re planning on grabbing dinner or a souvenir while you’re there.

Why This Event Keeps Drawing Crowds
Volcano Bay has built a loyal following since opening in 2017, largely thanks to its immersive theming and innovative ride technology. The TapuTapu wearable system lets guests reserve ride times virtually instead of waiting in physical lines, and signature attractions like the Krakatau Aqua Coaster, Ko’okiri Body Plunge, and TeAwa the Fearless River remain some of the most popular experiences at the entire resort.
That same atmosphere that makes Volcano Bay stand out during the day translates surprisingly well after dark. The volcano centerpiece, Krakatau, takes on a different character once it’s lit up against the night sky, and the shorter wait times that come with limited capacity make the event feel far more relaxed than a typical packed summer day at the park.
Planning Your Universal Visit
With additional dates now added and tickets already on sale, guests interested in attending should plan early, especially for nights that fall on weekends or line up with other travel plans to Orlando this summer. Limited-capacity events like this one have a tendency to sell out faster than guests expect, so locking in a date sooner rather than later is the safer move if there’s a specific night you have in mind.
Whether the draw is the shorter lines, the DreamWorks character meet-and-greets, or simply the chance to experience Volcano Bay under the stars, this year’s expanded lineup gives guests even more chances to make it happen before the season wraps in August.
