Newly shared footage has revealed more information about an incident that took place on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on Sunday.

An incident occurred on June 21 when a 13-year-old guest exited their ride vehicle on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure before the attraction had ended. Disneyland confirmed the ride was immediately stopped, emergency responders attended the scene, and the guest was transported to a hospital for evaluation before later being released.

The guest reportedly exited the vehicle near the top of the attraction’s signature final drop. Disneyland has not publicly explained how the guest left the log or what led to the incident, but officials confirmed the location following widespread speculation online.

Questions were also raised about why the attraction reopened so quickly. According to reporter Scott Gustin, Cal/OSHA inspectors reviewed the ride the following morning and cleared it to reopen. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure resumed normal operations the next day and continues to operate at Disneyland.

Now, a new video shows the full extent of the incident.

Video Shows Guest Plummeting Down Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

The video – acquired by TMZ – shows the young guest seemingly trying to climb out of the back seat of their ride vehicle before falling down the full 50-foot height of the ride’s drop.

While they initially seem to be trying to reach the side of the drop, the child follows the log down the track.

It’s still unclear how or why the guest left their vehicle. However, the guest did so intentionally, rather than falling from the log itself.

Unlike the version of the attraction – once known as Splash Mountain – found at Magic Kingdom, Disneyland’s ride does not include lap bars or restraints.

Some have theorized that this will inevitably trigger a change to the ride vehicles in the future.

Since opening, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has faced criticism from some guests over frequent technical issues, including broken animatronics, dark scenes, and repeated downtime. The attraction has also remained divisive among longtime Splash Mountain fans, with some arguing the new storyline lacks the tension and clear narrative that made its predecessor so popular.
