Two Disney parks are set to lose their nightly fireworks in nine days.

Whether it’s Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland Park, Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom, or ILLUMINATE! A Nighttime Celebration at Shanghai Disneyland, fireworks often mark the end of a magical Disney day.

However, that experience is about to disappear at two Disney parks for months at a time.

The upcoming suspension will leave both parks without their regular nighttime fireworks spectacular throughout much of the summer, continuing a pattern that has become familiar to returning visitors.

Guests hoping to catch the show before it disappears are running out of time. The final performances are scheduled for June 14, with the extended hiatus beginning the following day.

The affected parks are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, where the nightly Sky Full of Colors fireworks show will be suspended from June 15 through September 14.

The break doesn’t end there. Fireworks will once again disappear from September 25 through November 27, creating another lengthy gap later in the year.

The result is that Tokyo Disney Resort will spend roughly five months of 2026 without its standard nighttime fireworks offering.

The resort has historically paused fireworks during the summer months, with weather conditions widely believed to be a contributing factor. Disney has not publicly confirmed a specific reason for this year’s suspension.

Guests visiting during the initial closure period will still have one nighttime entertainment option. Reach for the Stars, Tokyo Disneyland’s projection-mapping spectacular, is scheduled to continue through September 14.

That show is also approaching the end of its run. September 14 marks the final performance of Reach for the Stars, meaning the resort will soon lose both its regular fireworks show and its primary projection-based nighttime spectacular.

Seasonal offerings are expected to return later in the year. Night High Halloween traditionally replaces the standard fireworks program during the Halloween season, before Starbright Christmas arrives for the holidays.

Anyone hoping to see Sky Full of Colors before it goes dark has just nine days left.
