Guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week encountered some barriers while navigating the sprawling Lucasfilm-themed land. Here’s what we know about the latest construction project impacting Walt Disney World Resort guests.

On March 23, Walt Disney World Resort guests arrived in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to find one of the land’s themed areas surrounded by construction walls. The affected area includes a prop A-Wing ship, which is one of the first things guests see when they enter Batuu from Grand Avenue.

The resistance ship is barely visible from the side of the plywood walls in a photo shared on Facebook by WDWNT:

BlogMickey also shared an image of the new barriers in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

Walt Disney World Resort has not issued any public statements about the refurbishment or whether it plans to make any changes to the A-Wing ship, which sits across from Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The attraction and its queue are unaffected by the construction walls.

Other Construction in Batuu

This is the latest in several maintenance projects throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Earlier this month, Inside the Magic reported that Walt Disney World Resort had installed scaffolding around part of the Millennium Falcon structure, the set of the Smugglers Run attraction.

Disney didn’t share any details about that project, but it’s likely another cosmetic refurbishment. However, in just a few months, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will open with a new storyline inspired by The Mandalorian & Grogu (2026).

Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are also implementing a timeline shift in their respective Star Wars lands, with half of the area set in the original trilogy and the other half in the sequel timeline.
