Disney Removes ‘Inside Out’ From Public Access, Effective March 2026

Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind was scheduled to reopen after a two-day refurbishment on March 1, but it remains closed nine days later. This extended closure is the second time the Disney California Adventure Park attraction has been shut down for maintenance.

Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind Closure

The Pixar Pier attraction first closed for refurbishment from January 5 to January 23, 2026. This closure didn’t raise red flags among Disneyland Resort fans, as every single Disney Park ride requires routine maintenance from time to time.

In February, though, Southern California Disney Parks fans were surprised to discover that Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind was back on the refurbishment calendar. It closed on February 27, but was scheduled to reopen after just two days, on March 1. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

As of Tuesday, March 10, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind remains closed. Disneyland Resort’s website lists the attraction as reopening on Wednesday, March 11. Still, it also warns that “Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is currently closed for refurbishment” and instructs guests to “please check back here for updates.” This disclaimer language is typically used only when Disney doesn’t know exactly when a ride will reopen.

According to MickeyVisit, the refurbishment calendar on Disneyland Resort’s website has listed Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind as reopening the following day each day from March 1 to March 9. However, the Disney Park ride has yet to reopen. This may happen again on Thursday, March 11.

Disneyland Resort has not issued any other public comments on the extended closure of Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. It’s unclear whether the closure is related to a technical issue, newly discovered damage, or another maintenance issue.
