Thousands of Walt Disney World Resort guests are being exposed to mold or mildew while waiting in line for one of the most popular attractions in Toy Story Land. A significant portion of the outdoor queue for Slinky Dog Dash is covered in a black substance, raising safety concerns for families visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

On February 16, WDWNT reported that a blue Slinky Dog mural, which serves as a wall in the queue for the Toy Story Land roller coaster, is covered in patches of mold or mildew. The outlet shared these photos on Facebook:

There are also cracks in the paint or decal on the wall, which could be from guest wear and tear or mold damage. At some edges of the wall, the mural is completely peeled away. This type of damage is common – it typically starts naturally, then gets exacerbated by bored Disney Park guests picking at it.

What makes the mold infestation more concerning is that it’s low to the ground, making it easily accessible to children, who are likely to run their hands along the wall (or worse, their faces…). Hopefully, Walt Disney World Resort remediates this issue as soon as possible.

Recent Mold Clean-Up at Magic Kingdom Park

Over the weekend, Walt Disney World Resort finally cleaned a black mold or mildew line off a partially-submerged gondola in the “it’s a small world” attraction at Magic Kingdom Park. This issue had been present for much longer, but it wasn’t in an area guests could reach, so it didn’t pose as much of a risk to families visiting the original Central Florida Disney park (though it certainly wasn’t pretty to look at).

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t issued any public statements on recent mold issues at its theme parks.
