The original Splash Mountain music played on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure this month when several guests snuck a portable speaker onto the log flume ride to “bring back” the controversial attraction.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Splash Mountain closed at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort in 2023 for its transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The rethemed attraction replaces the racist Song of the South (1946) theme with a story set after the events of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Princess and the Frog (2009). The new ride opened at Magic Kingdom Park in June 2024, and Disneyland Park followed in November of the same year.

Guests join Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), Louis (Michael-Leon Wooley), Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), and Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis) as they gather musicians for a party on the New Orleans bayou. The ride features advanced audio-animatronics of the film characters and additional animal friends, as well as voicework from the original cast.
The “Return” of Splash Mountain

Some nostalgic Splash Mountain fans recently took the initiative to bring the spirit of Splash Mountain back to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland Park. TikTok user @n8thegr88888888 shared several videos of his party blasting the old soundtrack (namely, “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah”) during a recent ride:

Another video showed the guests filming and singing some of the words to “How Do You Do?”, one of the other most popular songs from Splash Mountain:

In the final clip, the Disney Park guests “brought back the Laughing Place” during an interior portion of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure:

Disney Parks Fans Respond
Some Disney Parks fans praised the guests for “bringing back” Splash Mountain.

“Splash was sooooooo much better,” @randomtiktoc2 wrote. “Great work.”
“Let me know next time you go so I can enjoy the ride again,” @dewmandrew commented.
Still, others bashed the guests for impacting the experience of other riders, who may have wanted to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as intended.

“That’s how you ruin a ride for everyone,” said @roxas255sora6.
“Yeah I would’ve most definitely threw that speaker off the ride,” kayia87 replied. “Ain’t finna ruin my Tiana bayou ride with that goofy song.”
The TikToker defended his actions with a simple response: “I made it better!”
