Walt Disney World Resort is installing new themed dividers around the EPCOT World Showcase. The new barriers help Disney Park guests identify when they’re passing from one country to the next as they’re walking around the World Showcase Lagoon.

On January 8, BlogMickey reported that Walt Disney World Resort is quietly expanding on a project it began late last year to help guests distinguish the divide between countries around the EPCOT World Showcase. According to recent reporting, the project started in the Mexico World Showcase Pavilion and was initially limited to the south side walkway, leading to the Norway World Showcase Pavilion.

Now, crews have begun installing the themed dividers on the north side walkway, which leads to the World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery neighborhoods at EPCOT. The red-tinted pavement features a vaguely Aztec-style design, but it’s unclear if that will be exclusive to the Mexico World Showcase Pavilion.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t said whether it plans to replicate the same design or create new ones as it expands the themed pavement dividers around the rest of the World Showcase, including Norway, China, Germany, Italy, The American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

Crews have yet to begin installing dividers around the rest of the EPCOT World Showcase, and Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t released a completion timeline for this project.

X (formerly known as Twitter) user @davezatz shared a photo of the partially completed, themed pavement dividers on the north side walkway of the Mexico World Showcase Pavilion. The pavement is quite dusty, which could be a result of the ongoing work on the rest of the area.

How about replacing or at least pressure washing the rest of it. Looks terrible. Dropping Magical Express and new Lightning Lane revenue could surely cover this work.
