A family recently shared a video after their teenager with a leg injury got stuck on the Matterhorn Bobsleds roller coaster at Disneyland Park, requiring firefighters to pull the young guest out of his ride vehicle. The situation was worsened by a dead electric conveyance vehicle (ECV), trapping the boy in the area until a new mobility aid arrived.

On December 28, TikTok user @sydney.burghardt shared this video of Anaheim firefighters carrying her teenage brother out of the Matterhorn Bobsleds. The Disney Park guest explained that her brother got “stuck” in the sled-shaped ride vehicle and discovered his electric mobility device was dead after finally being rescued.

“Say ‘Happiest Place on Earth,'” the boy’s father joked in the video.

Firefighters played along, encouraging the teen to “smile” as they carried him through the ride exit. After transferring the patient to his ECV, they even gave him a special button for his bravery.

It’s unclear whether the Matterhorn Bobsleds attraction broke down, forcing all guests on board to evacuate, including the injured teenager, or if the boy’s injury made it impossible for him to exit the sled-shaped ride vehicle at the unload station. The TikToker didn’t clarify what led to her brother getting “stuck” on the Disneyland Park attraction.

Regardless of the cause, the Disney Park ride undoubtedly closed temporarily to allow firefighters to evacuate the teenager. Fortunately, at the time of this article’s publication, Matterhorn Bobsleds had reopened and was operating normally.

If your family ever gets stuck on a Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort ride, remain seated and do not tamper with safety restraints. Listen to all Disney cast member instructions and do not enter restricted areas beyond their directions.
