An emergency response brought the magic of Walt Disney World Resort to a grinding halt on Monday afternoon. In the wake of one of the busiest weeks of the year at the Central Florida Disney parks, first responders swarmed Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge after at least one person called 911 to report a “suspicious incident” at the Deluxe Disney Resort hotel. Here’s everything we know about the incident.
First Responders Flood Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 1, police responded to a reported “suspicious incident” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, a Deluxe Walt Disney World Resort hotel not far from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. X (formerly known as Twitter) account @WDWActiveCrime, which monitors and reports scanner activity near the Central Florida Disney parks, shared the call in a post:

Specifically, authorities were called to an address on Osceola Parkway, nearest to a pool area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. However, 911 calls at Walt Disney World Resort are often directed to specific, centralized addresses, rather than the exact coordinates of the emergency, so that doesn’t mean that the “suspicious incident” occurred at the exact location displayed on the Google Maps screenshot.
What “Suspicious Incident” Means
A “suspicious incident” can refer to an innumerable number of emergencies, especially at a place like Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, where wild African animals, such as giraffes, zebras, and antelope, graze mere feet from Disney Resort hotel guests.
Previous “suspicious incident” reports at Walt Disney World Resort have been later updated to reflect calls for assistance with cases of grand theft, battery, verbal fights, trespassers, and other emergency situations.
It’s unclear what “suspicious incident” refers to in the case of Monday’s law enforcement response at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
What to Look For Over the Next Few Days

Walt Disney World Resort rarely issues public statements about law enforcement responses on its property. However, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department occasionally publishes police reports regarding criminal activity at the Central Florida Disney parks. Reports about Monday’s incident could come to light at any time in the next few days.
It’s important to note that if this incident involved a medical emergency unrelated to criminal activity, it’s unlikely that details will ever emerge due to privacy regulations.
Is it Safe to Visit Walt Disney World Resort Right Now?
