For the premium New Year’s Eve offering, Disney World guests had best open their wallets.

Perched on the 15th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, California Grill delivers one of Walt Disney World’s most memorable dining experiences. The restaurant pairs sweeping views of Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon with an elegant, mid-century California–inspired setting and an open kitchen that adds lively energy to the space.
The three-course prix fixe menu showcases market-driven California cuisine, featuring signature dishes such as oak-fired filet mignon, sushi, and seasonal seafood. A vast wine list and expert sommeliers complete the upscale experience.
Guests can enjoy a spectacular fireworks view from their table or the outdoor terrace, with music from Magic Kingdom’s nighttime show perfectly synchronized. Reservations are essential, and the dress code leans resort casual. For many visitors, California Grill remains the go-to spot for special occasions–blending refined dining, stunning views, and timeless Disney magic.

The New Year’s Eve event at California Grill features the following, per the official Walt Disney World Resort:
- A 4-Course Meal: Savor event-exclusive dishes made from premium ingredients.
- Music: A live band will play smooth tunes to create a festive ambiance for your elegant meal.
- Characters: Enjoy a photo opportunity with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
- Fireworks: From a prime viewing area, watch the special New Year’s Eve fireworks light up the sky above Magic Kingdom park. Fireworks viewing will take place at the end of each seating. Fireworks may be canceled due to inclement weather and are subject to change.
- A Champagne Toast: Receive a complimentary glass of champagne (ages 21 and older only).
Guests can look forward to an extraordinary culinary celebration with a specially curated four-course menu inspired by the chef’s personal journey, California market cuisine, and signature creations that pay tribute to the restaurant’s 30th anniversary.

The experience begins with refined starters, such as the American Wagyu Futomaki Roll, setting the tone for an evening of creativity and flavor. For the second course, diners can choose from artfully prepared market inspirations, including BBQ European Quail, Norwegian Brown King Crab, and a rich Sweet Potato & Nantucket Scallop Bisque.
The third course showcases the chef’s mastery through premium entrées, such as a 30-Day Dry-Age Snake River Farms Wagyu Filet, Butter-Poached Maine Lobster, and the delicately layered Glacier 51 Toothfish Mosaic. To finish, guests are treated to decadent sweet creations, such as the Chocolate Blossom, Muscovado Brown Sugar Crème Brûlée, and Celebration of Citrus.

Handcrafted cocktails—like the Black Truffle and Fig Old-Fashioned or Blueberry & Thyme Gin Smash—are also available to complement the evening’s flavors. Prices vary depending on date and seating, with December 30 reservations priced at $229 per person, early seating on New Year’s Eve at $299, and late seating at $349, ensuring a truly memorable start to the new year.
While this is a once-in-a-year experience, and California Grill is one of the most expensive dining locations on resort property, the high price point continues to reflect Disney’s decision to offer costly experiences. The Walt Disney Company has come under scrutiny in recent years regarding the increase in costs for everything from ticket admission, Lightning Lane passes, and food and beverage.
