Comcast, which owns Universal Orlando Resort, has released its Q3 2025 earnings report, covering the period from July to September. This is the first earnings report that reflects only the months that Universal Epic Universe, the Central Florida vacation destination’s newest theme park, was open to the public. Unfortunately, the document demonstrates that Universal Epic Universe may not be performing as well as Universal Orlando Resort had hoped.
Epic Universe Debuts Modest Financial Success

Executives at Comcast say Universal Epic Universe enjoyed some “early success,” and said the new destination drove an increase in theme park revenue for the company. Theme park reporter Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin) shared this snippet of the report on X (formerly known as Twitter):
Comcast says the early success of Epic Universe helped drive a 19% jump in theme park revenue in Q3 (July – Sept.), with theme parks EBITDA rising 13% to $958 million for the quarter.

Comcast’s theme park revenue was 18.7% for Q3, which is actually a slight decline from Q1’s 18.9% (which included Universal Epic Universe’s grand opening, as well as some time before the park was operational). The raw revenue dollars increased from 2024, but the percentage increase in Q3 is noticeably lower than in Q2.

Of course, an 18.7% theme park revenue increase is nothing to complain about. Still, for an international vacation destination premiering its third gate, the Q3 figures could arguably be described as modest performance.
Universal Orlando Resort vs. Walt Disney World Resort

The Walt Disney Company is scheduled to release its earnings figures for the July through September period on November 13, 2025. However, in comparison to Universal Orlando Resort, Walt Disney World Resort reported a 22% increase in domestic theme park operating income in its last quarter, along with an overall operating income increase of 13%. This obviously exceeds Universal Orlando Resort’s 18.9%…without Disney debuting any new theme parks.
