On Tuesday, emergency vehicles were summoned to Disney’s Contemporary Resort after a report that Disney’s monorail had struck someone. However, those early reports/rumors proved to be false; however, authorities did find a woman’s body who died from an apparent suicide.

Shortly after her death, the Orange County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that it was a suicide, and that she had died of “multiple blunt impact injuries,” and that she was “not impacted by the monorail.”

Now, a few days after the tragic incident, more details are starting to emerge about this woman and what happened to her at the Disney hotel. According to the New York Post, the woman who died at the Contemporary was Summer Equitz, 31, from Naperville, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.

According to the Post, Equitz was a “Disney superfan” who had honeymooned at Disney World. Her favorite Disney movie was Beauty and the Beast, and she one day dreamed of playing Belle. She also posted a photo with Disney CEO Bob Iger at Disneyland on social media.

However, there is still some mystery surrounding just how she ended up at Disney World from her home in Illinois and why she took her own life at the parks. According to the Post, a since-deleted Reddit post from someone claiming to be Equitz’s relative, she had flown to Disney World on Tuesday morning “without telling” her family.

The Reddit post told anyone who saw her at Disney World to call the police immediately and claimed that she was a “missing person.”

Ten months ago, Equitz posted a photo on Facebook announcing that she was pregnant. However, she has not posted any further updates on her pregnancy since then.

Neither Disney World nor The Walt Disney Company has made any statement on Equitz’s death at the Disney World Resort.
