It seems as though every part of Walt Disney World is getting some sort of upgrade or renovation. From Magic Kingdom to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, guests will find a number of ongoing projects during their time at “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”

The biggest changes of the bunch are found inside Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Both theme parks closed down fan-favorite locations this summer, such as Muppets Courtyard and Tom Sawyer Island.

Changes are afoot over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa too, with progress being made on a very controversial addition to the dated-old hotel.

According to a new report, the Bell Services desk has reopened at Disney’s Grand Floridian amid its ongoing remodel. More progress has also been made on the hotels’ upcoming new bar.

Walt Disney World unveiled a first look at the updated hotel lobby this April. The update includes the first-ever lobby bar, inspired by the ornate golden bird cage that has welcomed guests to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for over three decades.

Like most changes at the Disney parks, the lobby overhaul at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is controversial, especially the new bar. Some fans trust Walt Disney World Resort to incorporate modern elements into the Victorian theme, while others feel the family-friendly vacation destination simply doesn’t need any more alcoholic offerings.

Alcohol is something Disney continues to lean more heavily on inside its theme parks, with Magic Kingdom welcoming a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed watering hole, The Beak and Barrel, earlier this summer. While the bar is full of the same charm and attention to detail found in the classic Disney ride it’s based on, some fans feel it doesn’t exactly fit with the rest of Magic Kingdom.

Of course, themed lounges and bars are nothing new for Walt Disney World, with Oga’s Cantina being one of the more popular offerings at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The bird cage-shaped bar will feature brass accents, detailed woodwork, and stained glass with bird motifs, paying tribute to the real birds that once lived in the hotel lobby.

Only time will tell what fans think of the bar when all is said and done, but for now, it remains one of the most interesting and divisive projects currently happening at the resort, and that’s saying something.

Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios are undergoing transformations of their own. Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom will be home to new lands and worlds inspired by classic Pixar franchises like Monsters Inc. and Cars, respectively.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will also be home to a new land, one that takes inspiration from South America.
