Mickey Mouse ruined the magic for as many as 10,000 Walt Disney World Resort guests after losing his head during a performance of Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. One of the spectators shared a video of the incident on social media.
As Disney Parks fans, we all know that there’s only one Mickey Mouse–he uses magical mouse holes to travel around Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. But, as adults, most of us also realize that Walt Disney World Resort hires human cast members to help bring Mickey and his friends to life…

Unfortunately, countless young Disney Park guests involuntarily came to that adult realization during a performance of Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In a video posted on TikTok by @user75775674346, Sorcerer Mickey lost his head in front of thousands of Walt Disney World Resort guests:

The wardrobe malfunction occurred near the end of Fantasmic! after Mickey Mouse defeated Maleficent and took back his imagination. The Disney character performer’s head slipped off, but luckily, they managed to grab it before it fell to the ground or, worse, off the elevated platform they were standing on.

Seconds before pyrotechnics erupted to help Mickey Mouse “magically” disappear and reappear on another part of the stage, the Disney character performer regained control of the costume head, snapped it back on, and continued with their choreography.
Fortunately, Mickey Mouse is quite far from the audience during this part of Fantasmic!, so many Disney Park guests may not have even noticed the wardrobe malfunction. Regardless, this Disney character performer will likely be triple-checking costume snaps, buttons, and zippers for the foreseeable future!
