On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, the National Weather Service in Melbourne issued an Extreme Heat Advisory for much of Florida, including the entire Walt Disney World Resort area. Temperatures are expected to be between 93 and 98°F, with the Heat Index making temperatures feel as hot as 112°F. This Extreme Heat Advisory is in effect from noon to 7:00 p.m. EST.

This follows an earlier Extreme Heat Warning on Tuesday, July 29. Thankfully, temperatures aren’t expected to be as hot on Wednesday, but dangerous conditions are still likely for anyone outside in the Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort areas.

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World Resort this week, you don’t have to lock yourself in your Disney Resort hotel room. However, guests are encouraged to stay hydrated, use sunscreen, and wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.

During the day, it’s best to spend as much time indoors, avoiding direct sunlight. Get away from the scorching theme park pavement at attractions like Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… And Beyond! at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Soarin’ at EPCOT, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Toy Story Mania! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Mickey’s PhilharMagic and Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom Park.

If you’ve just arrived at your Disney Resort hotel, Walt Disney World Resort offers free admission to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Parks on check-in day. Although guests should still stay out of the sun in the mid-afternoon hours, both parks are great places to beat the heat in the morning and early evening.

Walt Disney World Resort offers water bottle refill stations and drinking fountains near bathrooms throughout the Disney parks and Disney Springs. Complimentary ice water is available at every Quick Service restaurant, and most merchandise locations sell sun protection. It’s important to drink water before you feel thirsty, and reapply sunscreen before feeling your skin burn.

Symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke include nausea, vomiting, slurred speech, confusion, racing heart rate, flushed skin, rapid breathing, feeling chills despite a high body temperature, and suddenly not sweating.

Seek action immediately if you exhibit any of these symptoms. First Aid stations are available throughout Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Springs.
