As Disney reckons with the closure of classic attractions and the reopening of rethemed favorites, more information has surfaced regarding price increases at the Central Florida destination.

With Cool Kid Summer happening across the resort, it’s hard to imagine that just next month, the parks will be decked out in their Halloween finest. From pumpkin Mickeys on Main Street, U.S.A., to fresh new fall merchandise and even an updated Jack Skellington meet and greet, spooky season is fast approaching.

Magic Kingdom will once again host its annual Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on select nights starting from August 15, 2025, and a plethora of other Halloween-themed offerings will be available to guests at EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs.

Families may, of course, want to engage with EPCOT’s festive scavenger hunt this year, but be warned, it will make your wallet even lighter. Welcome back, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit.

The good news is that Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is starting earlier than ever before at the EPCOT theme park in Disney World. As confirmed online, the scavenger hunt will begin on September 2, 2025, weeks earlier than previous years. However, while guests may be excited about hunting Pluto’s pumpkins sooner rather than later, the good news comes with a dose of bad news.

Much like the Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak Scavenger Hunt during EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival, the cost of Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit has risen to $11.99, $2 more than last year. The cost of the Ratatouille Food & Wine activity has also risen $4 since 2021.

The gradual increase reflects the broader strategy at the Walt Disney World Resort, with the House of Mouse inflating prices across ticket admission, hotel accommodation, and services like the Lightning Lane.

On the official Walt Disney World Resort website, Disney explains how the Pluto Pumpkin Pursuit will work in 2025.

  • First, purchase your game board and stickers—available while supplies last at Disney Traders, Creations Shop, festival markets and other select shops for $11.99 plus tax.
  • Have fun hunting for Disney-themed pumpkins around the festival, then add a sticker to your game board after each discovery.
  • At the end of your journey (even if you don’t find all the pumpkins), you can bring your game board to Disney Traders, Gateway Gifts, Creations Shop or World Traveler and receive a spooky festival keepsake!

Disney has also issued its rules and regulations about Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit.

“Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is subject to cancellation or change without notice, including—without limitation—dates and prices,” the website reads. “Game boards available while supplies last. Limit 5 game board purchases per Guest. One surprise per game board. Game board valid for redemption through November 22, 2025, or while supplies last.”
