More information about the bizarre wedding inside a Disney theme park has been revealed. According to reports, 39-year-old Jacky Jhaj appeared in court this week following the event. Jhaj is on the UK sex offender registry as a result of sexual activity he had with two underage girls in 2016.

Earlier in June, news broke that a fake wedding had been planned inside Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Paris Resort in France. A crew was there to film the event, though staff did not let the wedding go on long after noticing a child was “playing” the part of the bride.

It’s estimated that Jhaj and his team paid £110,000 or nearly $150,000 USD to Disneyland Paris for a private wedding early before the park opened. Staff reported the event to security after noticing the child bride, who was barely able to stand on the heels she was wearing.

The production also included one hundred French extras. Jhaj was arrested and appeared before a judge on charges of fraud, breach of trust, money laundering, and identity theft.

Prosecutors stated that the girl involved is a Ukrainian national who had arrived in France just two days prior. The girl’s mother was also arrested, as was a Latvian woman who played her sister. A Latvian man hired to play the father was also arrested.

Jhaj reportedly used a Latvian man’s fake identity to secure the event at Disneyland Paris. According to the prosecutor, Jhaj had been given a makeover so that his face appeared “totally different from his own. ”

This is not the first time Jhaj has been accused of holding a staged production involving minors. In 2023, Jhaj allegedly hired hundreds of children to act as fake fans.
