On May 12, Walt Disney World Resort surprised fans by suddenly pulling information about the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean bar from its website. The abrupt change came just hours after Disney’s official website initially published the information and days after Disney Parks Blog revealed the bar’s name: The Beak and Barrel.
Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro first announced plans for a Pirates of the Caribbean bar in Magic Kingdom Park at Destination D23 2023. Over the last two years, Walt Disney World Resort has slowly dropped information about the space, ultimately revealing that it will be a family-friendly, reservation-only experience with a strict 45-minute time limit.
On Monday morning, booking information for The Beak and Barrel suddenly appeared on Walt Disney World Resort’s website.
The page said that initially, reservations for the Pirates of the Caribbean bar would only be available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party events from August 15 to October 31, 2025. (Walt Disney World Resort also announced event dates, ticket prices, and other information about the Magic Kingdom after-hours Halloween party on Monday.)

Walt Disney World Resort initially wrote that Disney Resort hotel guests could begin booking reservations for The Beak and Barrel on June 12, 2025, with reservations opening for other guests on June 16. However, just hours later, that information disappeared from the official webpage. Instead, it reads:
“The Beak and Barrel is scheduled to open in late 2025. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Check back later for details about making reservations.”
It’s unclear whether The Beak and Barrel will still be exclusive to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party during its initial rollout. The rapid change on Walt Disney World Resort’s website suggests that the information was released prematurely or that Disney has changed its mind about the lounge’s reservation system.

Walt Disney World Resort says The Beak and Barrel will open in “late 2025.” The family-friendly Adventureland lounge will feature quick bites, themed beverages, and interactive entertainment from Captain Merry Goldwyn and Rummy, her “chatty parrot quartermaster.”
