Princess Tiana recently “died” in front of Disneyland Resort guests in an incident captured on a social media video. The final Disney Princess animatronic in the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction stood motionless in front of hundreds of Disneyland Park guests as the rest of her Bayou friends continued dancing and singing.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened at Disneyland Park last month, officially marking the completion of the Splash Mountain rethemes in the United States.
In the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort log flume rides, guests join Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), Louis (Michael-Leon Wooley), and Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis) as they gather a band for a celebration of New Orleans!

Guests have reported fewer malfunctions with Disneyland Resort’s version of the Princess and the Frog (2009) ride than Walt Disney World Resort’s, which experienced significant technical difficulties during its preview and grand opening period in June. The Magic Kingdom Park ride closed hours early days in a row and continued struggling for its first few weeks of operations.
Unfortunately, the Disneyland Resort version hasn’t escaped unscathed. This weekend, TikTok user @norma.rin shared a video of Princess Tiana, collapsed and motionless, during the Bayou Country ride’s finale:
@norma.rin same girl , im tired #tianasbayouadventure #disneyland
“Tiana doesn’t want to go down the bayou anymore,” the Disney Park guest joked. “Same girl, I’m tired.”
The video amassed widespread attention on TikTok.
“Me dissociating at a party because I’m tired and I wanna go home..Tiana girl I can RELATE,” @thetenthmiguel joked.

“Me at work,” quipped @nick.rac.
Others took the opportunity to slam Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, longing for the return of the controversial attraction it replaced: Splash Mountain.
“Getting rid of Splash Mountain was criminal,” @darkestangelll commented.

“We all agree splash mountain was better,” said @danielalejandro0913. “…Disney trying to hard to change things that are not meant to be changed period.”
With such advanced animatronic technology, occasional breakdowns are only natural. Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort typically resolve these issues as quickly and efficiently as possible.
It’s unclear if Disneyland Resort closed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure upon discovering the animatronic malfunction. The ride was operating normally at the time of this article’s publication.
