Fans crowd the plaza at Universal Orlando after dark, gazing up at the illuminated castle as searchlights sweep the sky and a live orchestra fills the air with music. The scene captures Universal’s signature magical vibe during a special event—sparking conversations among guests about whether an annual pass is worth it or if event parking fees are a better deal for nights like this.

In a not so unexpected move Universal Orlando has also decided to raise their parking prices after Disney announced a new price hike just this past Sunday. It’s almost a rite of passage in the theme park area of Orlando that if the leader, Disney, raises prices the rest of the parks follow suit.

The parking prices has climbed up to match Disney’s change from $17 to $20.

In May Universal Orlando raised the prices of their annual passes.

A Universal Orlando Florida Resident Power Pass now cost you $214.99 (past price $189) and a  Florida Resident Preferred Pass $299.99 (past price $259).
