Travel Channel to reveal dark side of animatronics in new Halloween time series ‘Making Monsters’

In the Creative Workshop at Making Monsters, a master craftsman with a signature beard unveils an imposing tree creature animatronic, its lifelike movements and haunting detail brought to life through cutting-edge effects—an impressive showcase of the immersive Halloween experiences in development for fans seeking spine-chilling thrills.

Beginning tomorrow night, Travel Channel is combining the worlds of animatronics with Halloween haunts in a new reality series. Following the Distortions Unlimited company, “Making Monsters” shows a behind-the-scenes look at how animated creatures are created for haunted houses and other spooky attractions.

A special effects artist brings a massive, animatronic alien head to life, showcasing advanced creature design techniques that thrill theme park guests. Text: "Making Monsters," "It's not easy making monsters, especially for Halloween.

“Making Monsters” will debut on Sunday, Oct. 2, continuing for four episodes, ending on Oct. 23. Distortions Unlimited owners Ed and Marsha Edmunds will be featured in the show, along with sculptor Jordu Schell, performer the Enigma, and Distortions comic book artist Daniel Crosier. The company that creates animatronic ghouls for haunted attractions around the world will show off their abilities in the weeks leading up to Halloween.
