Catch the action at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon as a guest in vibrant swim trunks rides thrilling artificial waves near the iconic wooden wall, expertly balancing with arms outstretched. This energetic video immerses you in the excitement of a surf lesson at one of Disney’s top water parks, showcasing impressive skill and concentration on every wave.

Everyone knows Walt Disney World offers four world-class theme parks with some of the most incredible attractions and experiences on the planet. There are plenty of amazing experiences many people do not know about though, including surf lessons at one of their wonderful water parks.

At Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, you can sign up for a surf lesson that’s perfect for beginners or intermediates who just want to get in the water and rip it. You’ll be given a soft-sided training surfboard and some lessons and advice from incredible instructors and you’ll be riding waves in no time.

Miss Tilly, the iconic ship marooned atop Mount Mayday at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, towers over lush palm-lined rocks beneath a partly cloudy sky, capturing the tropical adventure vibe of this popular water park.

We got to experience these surf lessons today and I got in the water to see just what they are all about. You can check out the video below to get a taste of what the surf lessons at Typhoon Lagoon have to offer (and enjoy all of my wipeouts).

These surf lessons are really an amazing experience. If you have ever had any interest in learning to surf, I can’t recommend these lessons enough. The randomness and unpredictability of the ocean is eliminated by the wave pool, giving you the perfect wave every 95 seconds.

Groups for these lessons are capped at 12 people, so you’ll always have an intimate experience with the instructors, who are there to coach you every step of the way (shout out to our instructions Jen, Amy and Thomas who were fantastic). Every lesson gives the group 100 waves to surf, so you have plenty of opportunities to get up on your board.

Surfers are also provided with a light breakfast, consisting of fruit, pastries, juice and water, to fuel up for their lesson. Believe me, this experience is quite a workout so you’re going to need plenty of fuel.

Every lesson also comes with complimentary photos from Gameday Photos, who will be there to capture all of the action and provide you with a memento from this amazing experience.

The important thing to remember when taking a surf lesson at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is to have fun. Whether this is your first time on a board or you’re an experienced surfer, these lessons are all about having fun. And don’t worry about wiping out, it happens to everyone!

The cost of these surf lessons is $190 per person, and I would say if you’re interested in learning to surf, it’s worth every penny. You can make your reservation for surf lessons and other surfing programs at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.
