Universal Orlando Resort has issued a resort-wide warning to guests today.
This week is a rough one for Orlando, with a stalled front trapping deep moisture over Central Florida and bringing repeated rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Rain chances sit at 80% to 90% today, with localized flooding possible on roads and in low-lying areas.

The wet weather is expected to stick around. Rain chances remain at 70% to 80% through Wednesday and Thursday, with another one to two inches forecast across the region and isolated totals of four inches or more. AccuWeather also warns that heavy rain could cause ponding on Orlando roads this week.
With that in mind, some guests have canceled or rearranged planned visits to Walt Disney World Resort, where a tornado reportedly touched down briefly over the weekend. Meanwhile, Universal Orlando Resort has put up notices warning those who do push ahead with their plans.
Universal Adds Warning Sign to Park Entrance
According to Inside Universal, a sign has gone up at the entrance to Universal Studios Florida warning that guests may have trouble leaving the park this evening.
The notice reads: “Please expect delays departing the Theme Parks and Universal CityWalk this evening.”
Sign advising guests of delays later this evening. Possibly weather related? Central Florida is expected to get hit with A LOT of rain this week.

While the sign doesn’t explicitly warn guests about the weather, it feels safe to assume that the expected delays could be linked to the conditions. Heavy rain and thunderstorms can slow traffic around the resort, create hazardous driving conditions, and cause backups as thousands of guests leave Universal Orlando and CityWalk at once.
Other delays are also inevitable during stormy weather. Universal warns that attractions may close because of weather, and outdoor rides are particularly vulnerable to lightning and heavy rain.
That can affect major attractions such as Jurassic World VelociCoaster and The Incredible Hulk Coaster at Islands of Adventure, plus Stardust Racers at Epic Universe. The latter is already experiencing a turbulent time right now following a lawsuit that alleges the roller coaster gave a boy head, facial, orthopedic, and spinal injuries after losing consciousness.

Judging by the forecast, the weather may only worsen in Central Florida.
Forecasters are also watching a developing disturbance over the southwestern Gulf of America, adding another weather concern to an already unsettled week. The National Hurricane Center has raised its development odds to 90% through both the next two days and the next week (via Click Orlando).

The disturbance is currently being tracked as AL92. Satellite data Tuesday morning showed the system becoming better organized, and conditions appear favorable for it to strengthen further over the Gulf.
If that happens, AL92 could soon become a tropical depression or earn the name Tropical Storm Isaias. Its eventual path remains uncertain, but the system is likely to draw plenty of attention across Florida as forecasters refine the outlook over the coming days.
