In less than 12 hours, law enforcement responded to two different incidents of battery in the EPCOT Area at Walt Disney World Resort. The first occurred shortly before midnight on October 7, and the second after EPCOT opened on the morning of October 8.
First Battery in the EPCOT Resort Area

The first 911 call came into the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 11:35 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7. Central Florida law enforcement monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime shared the scanner report on X (formerly known as Twitter):
🚨 Police Alert 🚓 – 10/7/26 11:35 PM

EPCOT closed at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, so by 11:35 p.m., all guests would’ve been cleared out of the second Central Florida Disney park. However, this incident was logged in the “EPCOT Resort Area,” not the theme park itself. The EPCOT Resort Area includes Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts (owned and operated by Marriott), Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.

The Google Maps screenshot attached to the X post pinpoints the location of the battery call near Crescent Lake, accessible via a walkway by Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts. However, this address is often used by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office as a generic location for emergency calls in the EPCOT Resort Area, so it’s unclear exactly where the battery call on Thursday night originated.
Second Battery on Thursday Morning

Less than 12 hours later, at 10:23 a.m. on October 8, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received another call about an incident of “Battery (Unwanted Touching or Striking Someone)” at EPCOT. From @WDWActiveCrime:
🚨 Police Alert 🚓 – 10/8/26 10:23 AM
🚨: Battery (Unwanted Touching or Striking Someone) at 📍: Disney’s EPCOT
#WaltDisneyWorld #Disney

Rather than the EPCOT Resort Area, this battery incident occurred within EPCOT itself. However, once again, law enforcement used a generic address for the second Central Florida Disney park, pinpointed in the X post at the main entrance.

It’s unclear exactly where within EPCOT the second battery incident occurred.
What to Know
At this time, the identity of those involved in the two battery incidents in the EPCOT Resort Area remains unknown. It’s unclear whether anyone was seriously injured or expelled from the Central Florida Disney destination.

Neither Walt Disney World Resort nor the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has commented publicly on either violent incident. More information may emerge in published police reports or if criminal charges are filed.
Nevertheless, operations at EPCOT appear to be continuing normally on Thursday, October 8. Walt Disney World Resort guests can comfortably proceed with their vacation itineraries as planned.
