New James Bond Actor Revealed in Full
Young Bond: SilverFin is a brand-new audio drama from Big Finish Productions. Based on Charlie Higson’s 2005 novel of the same name, it follows a teenage Bond during his time at Eton.
Earlier this year, it was announced that young actor Isaac Rouse (The Crown Season 6) had been cast as the voice of a 13-year-old Bond, alongside Charlotte McBurney as Wilder Lawless.
Here’s the synopsis for the new audio drama:
“On his first day at his new school, James Bond is about to make his very first enemy, and is soon plunged into a deadly adventure that will take him from the playing fields of Eton to the murky waters of Loch Silverfin. A monstrous secret lurks beneath its icy surface… a secret that threatens to plunge the world into a new era of warfare.”
Now, in an exclusive interview with Radio Times, Rouse has revealed that the younger iteration of Bond he’s playing in the new audio drama series is “vulnerable in ways he hasn’t been before.”

“That is part of the unique joy of this story, that we get an opportunity to take Bond to a more vulnerable place where he is a boy,” the actor explained, adding, “And he’s not yet got the imperviousness, nor is the ever-calculating ruthless killer we are accustomed to. There’s still a boyish curiosity to him and a naivety.”
We also have our first official trailer for Young Bond: SilverFin. Watch it below:
Young Bond: SilverFin also stars Miriam Margolyes (Cleek MacSawney), William Hope (Lord Hellebore), Paterson Joseph (Dr Perseus Friend), Tim McInnerny (Uncle Max), Miranda Raison (Aunt Charmian), Timothy Bentinck (Sergeant White), Lucy Fleming (Madame Ouspenskaya), Harry Marcus (Red Kelly), Christopher Nathan (George Hellebore), and Penelope Rawlins (Alfie Kelly), with Higson himself as Bond’s mentor Michael Merriot.
Young Bond: SilverFin is available now, allowing listeners to hear Isaac Rouse’s take on the character in full. The series is divided into two box sets.
There are also plans to adapt other Young Bond novels, with the official website YoungBondAdventures.com stating, “Charlie Higson’s beloved Young Bond novels are being brought to life as a range of brand-new, full-cast audio dramas by Big Finish Productions, starting with his first adventure – SilverFin.”
The 2005 book SilverFin was followed by the sequels Blood Fever, Double or Die, Hurricane Gold, and By Royal Command. The book series later continued under author Steve Cole with Shoot to Kill, Heads You Die, Strike Lightning, and Red Nemesis.
Higson’s new Bond novel King Zero is also now available.

Other Upcoming 007 Projects
There are several other James Bond projects currently in development, including a novel aimed at young readers, a comic series from IDW, and the new film from Amazon MGM Studios.
The studio is reportedly nearing the end of its search for the next Bond actor following Daniel Craig’s five-film run, which includes Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015), and No Time to Die (2021).
The untitled film is being directed by Denis Villeneuve (the Dune films) and written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), with Amy Pascal (Spider-Man: Brand New Day) and David Heyman (the Harry Potter films) on board as producers. No release date has been announced yet.
