A popular EPCOT restaurant is preparing to temporarily close its doors, and the timing could affect plenty of Walt Disney World vacations in early 2027.

Guests visiting World Showcase have several places to grab British food, drinks, and snacks in the United Kingdom pavilion. However, one of the pavilion’s main dining options will soon become unavailable for an extended period.

Disney has scheduled a refurbishment for Rose & Crown Dining Room beginning in February. While the closure is temporary, Disney has not provided an exact reopening date or revealed what changes guests can expect once the work is complete.

Rose & Crown Dining Room Closing in February 2027

Rose & Crown Dining Room will officially close on Monday, February 15, 2027, as Disney begins a refurbishment of the EPCOT restaurant.

According to the current schedule, the restaurant will remain unavailable until sometime in early spring. That creates a potentially significant closure window for guests visiting Walt Disney World during the second half of February and into the spring travel season.

Disney has not announced exactly when Rose & Crown Dining Room will reopen.

That uncertainty is important for anyone planning an EPCOT dining reservation during that period. While Disney has provided the general early-spring timeframe, guests currently don’t have a specific date they can circle on the calendar.

Disney also hasn’t shared what the refurbishment will include.

The company hasn’t announced major changes to the restaurant’s theme, menu, seating areas, or overall experience. For now, this appears to be a temporary refurbishment rather than a permanent closure or announced reimagining.

Still, the lack of details leaves plenty of questions about what guests might notice when Rose & Crown eventually welcomes diners again.

One Part of Rose & Crown Will Remain Open

The good news is that the entire Rose & Crown operation isn’t disappearing during the refurbishment.

Rose & Crown Pub will remain open while work takes place at the neighboring dining room. That means EPCOT guests will still have access to part of the familiar United Kingdom pavilion location even while the table-service restaurant is unavailable.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop will also continue operating.

Both locations are expected to offer British food and beverage options throughout the Rose & Crown Dining Room refurbishment.

That distinction could be especially useful for guests who primarily want something to eat or drink rather than the full sit-down dining experience.

Rose & Crown Dining Room offers a different experience because guests can sit down for a full meal. Once it closes, visitors hoping specifically for that type of dining experience at the location will need to make other plans.

At least the continued operation of Rose & Crown Pub and Yorkshire County Fish Shop means the United Kingdom pavilion won’t lose all of its British dining options at once.

The Closure Could Affect Early 2027 Vacations

Restaurant refurbishments may not attract the same attention as major ride closures, but they can still change how guests plan a Disney World vacation.

Dining reservations can become an important part of a day at EPCOT, particularly for guests who build their World Showcase plans around specific restaurants.

Anyone visiting after February 15 will need to account for Rose & Crown Dining Room being unavailable until Disney completes the project.

The timing could affect several groups of visitors.

Guests traveling around Presidents’ Day will encounter the closure shortly after it begins. Anyone visiting later in February could also find the restaurant unavailable, and the early-spring reopening window means the refurbishment could potentially extend into March or beyond.

Disney simply hasn’t narrowed down that timeline yet.

Until the company announces a reopening date, guests shouldn’t assume Rose & Crown Dining Room will be available during an early-spring vacation.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the refurbishment will stretch deep into the season. It simply means Disney hasn’t committed publicly to a specific return date.

Rose & Crown Has Closed for Refurbishment Before

Interestingly, this won’t be the first time Rose & Crown Dining Room has undergone refurbishment around this point on the calendar.

The restaurant also closed for refurbishment around the same time in 2021.

That closure provides some historical context, although it doesn’t guarantee that the 2027 project will follow the same schedule.

In 2021, Rose & Crown Dining Room began accepting reservations again on March 21, a little more than a month after the previous closure began.

It would be tempting to use that earlier refurbishment as a guide for the upcoming project, but there are too many unknowns to assume Disney will repeat that timeline.

The scope of the 2027 work hasn’t been announced. Disney could be planning a relatively routine refurbishment, or the restaurant could require more extensive work this time around.

Until Disney releases additional information or reservations begin appearing again, the early-spring window remains the best indication guests have.

EPCOT Guests Still Have Plenty of Dining Choices

Fortunately, EPCOT isn’t short on places to eat.

World Showcase offers dining locations throughout its international pavilions, giving guests plenty of alternatives while Rose & Crown Dining Room is unavailable.

But replacing a particular restaurant isn’t always as simple as choosing another place nearby.

Many Disney World visitors return to the same restaurants because they enjoy a specific menu, atmosphere, location, or tradition. For those guests, a temporary closure can be disappointing even when dozens of other dining choices remain available elsewhere in the park.

Rose & Crown also occupies a recognizable spot in the United Kingdom pavilion, making it an established part of the World Showcase dining lineup.

Guests who already planned to eat there during an early 2027 vacation may want to start considering alternatives rather than waiting until their trip gets closer.

Meanwhile, those primarily interested in grabbing British food without a full table-service meal will have an easier adjustment because Yorkshire County Fish Shop is staying open.

More Details Should Come as the Closure Gets Closer

For now, there are two dates—or timeframes—that matter most.

Rose & Crown Dining Room closes February 15, 2027, and Disney currently expects the restaurant to return sometime in early spring.

Everything between those two points remains somewhat unclear.

Disney hasn’t announced what crews will change inside the restaurant, how extensive the refurbishment will be, or exactly how long the work will take.

More information could emerge as February approaches, particularly once Disney updates restaurant availability and its reservation calendar.

Until then, guests visiting EPCOT in late winter or early spring should plan around the possibility that Rose & Crown Dining Room won’t be part of their trip.

The closure isn’t permanent, and other British food and beverage options will remain available in the United Kingdom pavilion. Still, anyone who had a sit-down meal at Rose & Crown near the top of their EPCOT plans will need to make an adjustment.

And with Disney leaving the reopening date open-ended for now, travelers visiting in the weeks after February 15 will want to keep a close eye on the restaurant’s status as their vacation gets closer.
