Orlando Disney Destination Confirms Plans to Relocate
Disney’s Character Warehouse, an outlet store known for selling official Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line merchandise at deeply discounted prices, is closing its original location at the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets. For years, bargain shoppers have lined up at the storefront between the Under Armour outlet store and the entrance to the mall’s indoor food court.
Over the years, the store has become even more popular, especially as social media makes even more Disney Parks vacationers aware of its existence. In addition to more shoppers, Disney’s Character Warehouse locations are often crowded with resellers who pick up merchandise and ship it (at an additional cost) to buyers outside of Central Florida.
According to WDWNT, signage for Disney’s Character Warehouse has appeared on another storefront in the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets, across from a standalone Starbucks kiosk and the Nike Factory Store. This much larger storefront is in more of an anchor space at the end of a strip of shops, with direct access to a parking lot.
The signage reads “Disney’s Character Warehouse” and “Coming Soon,” without specifying an exact date when the old location will close and the new location will open. It also features sketches of several Disney characters, including Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, Lady and the Tramp, Pongo, Aurora, the Evil Queen, Dumbo, Snow White, and the fairies from Sleeping Beauty (1959): Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather.
There is one Timberland sign left on the parking lot side of the building.
Are Other Disney’s Character Warehouse Locations Affected?
The other Disney’s Character Warehouse location, in the Orlando International Premium Outlets near Universal Orlando Resort, has not announced plans to relocate.
This summer, Disney’s Character Warehouse announced it would open a new location in Tampa, at the Tampa Premium Outlets. Similarly, the storefront features “coming soon” signage with sketches of Disney characters:
