Credit: Erica Lauren, Inside the MagicA dispute in the EPCOT Resort Area on Thursday afternoon took a nasty turn, forcing law enforcement to respond to the violent incident at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Here’s what to know about the battery report at Walt Disney World Resort on October 15.
Battery Near EPCOT on October 15
At 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an incident of “Battery (Unwanted Touching or Striking Someone)” in the EPCOT Resort Area. Central Florida law enforcement monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime shared the scanner report regarding this incident on Walt Disney World Resort property on X (formerly known as Twitter):
🚨 Police Alert 🚓 – 10/15/26 1:10 PM

Hotels included in the EPCOT Resort Area at Walt Disney World are Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts (operated by Marriott), Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.
However, the scanner report specified that the battery incident occurred at one of the hotels on EPCOT Resorts Boulevard–those that are walkable from EPCOT. Guests must take the Disney Skyliner from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort to reach EPCOT, so it’s unlikely the battery incident occurred at either hotel.
The Google Maps screenshot attached to the X post from @WDWActiveCrime pinpoints a location in the center of Crescent Lake, which is unlikely to be where the 911 call originated. This address is often used in recorded law enforcement responses in the EPCOT Resort Area.
At this time, it’s unclear how many people were involved in the battery incident, whether any serious injuries occurred, or whether those involved were Disney cast members or guests. More information may become available through a published police report or through criminal charges, if filed.
Walt Disney World Resort has not issued a statement about the battery in the EPCOT Resort Area on Thursday afternoon.
