A new dining option is now available inside Universal Orlando Resort, giving families new breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.

Universal CityWalk Opens New Dining Location
Five Guys has officially opened at Universal CityWalk Orlando, giving Universal Orlando Resort guests a new burger stop and, unusually for the chain, a breakfast option before the parks. The September 25 opening is also a corporate milestone: Five Guys says the CityWalk restaurant is its 2,000th location worldwide.

For vacationers, however, the more practical change happens before lunch. Breakfast is served until 11 a.m., putting another morning food option directly in the arrival corridor used by guests heading toward Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. That could make the upper level busier during the rope-drop window, although neither Universal nor Five Guys has reported morning congestion tied to the restaurant.

Five Guys Opens at Universal CityWalk With Breakfast Until 11 A.M.
Universal had already confirmed that Five Guys would occupy the upper level of CityWalk, across from Bread Box Handcrafted Sandwiches. Guests can reach it by the escalator near the CityWalk entrance or the stairs near Bigfire, and the restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating.
Universal’s announcement highlighted a breakfast sandwich designed for guests making the “morning trek” toward Universal Studios Florida or Islands of Adventure. Five Guys’ September 25 opening announcement adds the cutoff: breakfast is available until 11 a.m., after which the location shifts to its regular menu.
That menu includes the chain’s familiar made-to-order burgers, hot dogs, hand-cut fries, and milkshakes. Universal has also emphasized customization, saying the brand offers more than 250,000 burger topping combinations.
The opening resolves a question that remained unanswered only days earlier. Inside the Magic reported on September 24 that staff training and Halloween Horror Nights signage pointed to an imminent debut, but an official opening date had not yet been announced.

A Burger King Replacement Becomes Five Guys’ 2,000th Store
The location replaces the former Burger King Whopper Bar, which closed April 21. Inside the Magic previously covered the Whopper Bar’s permanent closure and Five Guys replacement as part of a broader run of changes to CityWalk’s quick-service lineup.
What initially looked like a straightforward restaurant swap now carries a larger distinction for Five Guys. According to the company’s opening announcement, the Universal CityWalk restaurant is store No. 2,000 worldwide, a milestone reached roughly four decades after the business began.
For Universal guests, the brand’s global milestone matters less than the placement. CityWalk is the pedestrian gateway between the resort’s parking and transportation areas and the entrances to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. That makes a restaurant serving breakfast more relevant to the morning theme-park routine than a typical lunch-and-dinner opening.

Why the Breakfast Window Could Change the Rope-Drop Routine
The 11 a.m. breakfast cutoff creates a new reason for early-arriving guests to head upstairs rather than simply continue toward the park entrances. That is especially notable for visitors trying to combine breakfast with Early Park Admission or a rope-drop strategy.
There is an important distinction, though: no source reviewed for this story establishes that the new Five Guys has caused gridlock, multi-minute backups, or crowd-control problems. Universal is not requiring guests to visit the upper level before park entry. Any effect on morning circulation will depend on demand, operating hours, queue management, and how many guests choose to stop.
Still, the restaurant’s placement concentrates another food draw near Bread Box in a part of CityWalk already used by guests moving between dining locations and the parks. Inside the Magic has previously reported on CityWalk’s evolving quick-service operations, including mobile ordering and table delivery at select restaurants, as Universal continues adjusting how guests use the district.
CityWalk’s Quick-Service Lineup Is Changing Fast
Five Guys is not the only recent arrival. Fat One’s Hot Dogs & Italian Ice opened at CityWalk on September 19, just days before Five Guys, replacing another familiar quick-service concept. Inside the Magic covered that CityWalk opening and its launch event earlier this month.
Taken together, the openings continue a visible refresh of CityWalk dining. The Burger King-to-Five Guys change preserves burgers in the former Whopper Bar space while changing the brand, menu format, and now the morning offering. Nearby, Bread Box remains another upper-level quick-service option.
Universal has also confirmed a useful perk for frequent visitors: Preferred and Premier Universal Orlando Annual Passholders can use their applicable dining discount at Five Guys. That gives UOAPs another participating CityWalk location and could make the restaurant particularly relevant during repeat visits.

What Universal Orlando Guests Should Watch Next
The first real test will be how the breakfast period functions during busy mornings. A pre-11 a.m. menu gives families and rope-drop guests another choice, but it also introduces a new stopping point along a route where many visitors are trying to reach the gates quickly.
Guests who prioritize attractions may want to decide before arriving whether breakfast at Five Guys is part of the plan rather than making that decision in the middle of CityWalk. Those who do stop should find the restaurant on the upper level across from Bread Box, with indoor and outdoor seating available.
For now, the confirmed development is straightforward: Five Guys is open at Universal CityWalk Orlando, breakfast runs until 11 a.m., and the restaurant marks the chain’s 2,000th worldwide location. Whether that morning offering materially changes crowd patterns is something that can only be established after the new operation has had time to settle into Universal Orlando’s daily arrival rhythm.
