Smoke from a fire rises above Disneyland Park's Sleeping Beauty Castle in Paris

On Monday evening, thousands of guests visiting Disneyland Paris Resort were shocked to see billowing smoke and orange flames in the sky above Sleeping Beauty Castle. At least 85 firefighters and 30 emergency vehicles responded to a fire in a computer equipment warehouse in Chessy, “a few kilometers” from Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World, according to Le Parisien.

Several Disneyland Park (Paris) guests shared videos of smoke and fire in the sky above Sleeping Beauty Castle in the late evening on September 21. One clip, from X (formerly known as Twitter) user @nhabroni, showed thousands of guests navigating Main Street, U.S.A., as dark smoke billowed in the air:

@quelquundu77 shared another video and several photos taken from different lands around Disneyland Park (Paris) on Monday evening. The guest also reported seeing firefighters near the original European Disney park.

Similarly, @DLPReport shared several photos and noted that it appeared the fire was north of Disneyland Paris Resort:

According to Le Parisien, the fire broke out around 8:00 p.m. in a computer equipment warehouse a few kilometers from Disneyland Park (Paris), Disney Adventure World, Disney Village, and the European Disney Resort hotels. At least 85 firefighters and 30 emergency vehicles responded to the blaze, which, at the time of this report, had not been extinguished.

@DLPReport confirmed that the computer equipment warehouse is across the street from the European Disney park, but not on any onstage or backstage areas owned by the resort.

Update: the fire is from a storage facility north of Disneyland Park. It’s across the road from the Resort and outside the Disneyland Paris onstage and backstage enclosure:

There were no reported casualties from the fire, which affected the ground floor, first floor, and roof of the 1,600-square-meter “concrete and metal” building, according to the first responders on the scene.

Disneyland Paris Resort has not been evacuated due to the fire nearby.
