For the first time in 2026, a Disney After Hours event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has completely sold out. While Magic Kingdom and EPCOT reached that point earlier this year, Hollywood Studios had continued to have tickets available for each of its scheduled evenings. That has now changed, and it could be a sign that the remaining dates won’t stay available forever.
Hollywood Studios Records Its First Sell-Out
The August 5 Disney After Hours event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios officially sold out, becoming the park’s first After Hours event of the year to reach capacity. Tickets for that evening were priced at $169 per guest before taxes.
The sell-out also means every Walt Disney World park that hosts Disney After Hours has now experienced at least one capacity event during the 2026 season. Magic Kingdom has already sold out all of its remaining After Hours dates, while EPCOT has also seen multiple evenings reach capacity throughout the year. Hollywood Studios was simply the last park waiting to join the list.
While one sold-out night doesn’t necessarily mean every remaining event will disappear, it does suggest that interest is picking up as the season moves toward its final scheduled dates.
What Makes Disney After Hours So Popular?
Disney After Hours has become one of Walt Disney World’s most sought-after ticketed events because it offers something many guests are willing to pay extra for: shorter wait times.
Unlike regular park admission, Disney After Hours limits the number of tickets sold. That means guests can experience many of the park’s biggest attractions with significantly smaller crowds than they would typically encounter during the day.
Another major benefit is early entry. Although the event itself officially runs from 9:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m., guests can enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning at 7:00 p.m. without needing a separate theme park reservation.
For many visitors, that creates nearly five and a half hours inside the park, giving them plenty of time to enjoy attractions before and during the exclusive event.
Attractions Stay Open Late Into the Night
One of the biggest draws of Hollywood Studios After Hours is the attraction lineup.
Disney keeps many of the park’s most popular rides operating throughout the event, allowing guests to experience some of Walt Disney World’s most in-demand attractions long after the daytime crowds have gone home.
Among the featured attractions are:
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
- Slinky Dog Dash
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Those attractions alone are enough to attract many Disney fans, especially considering several of them regularly post some of the longest standby waits during normal operating hours. Disney also includes surprise character appearances throughout the park, giving guests another reason to stay out late.
Complimentary Snacks Are Included
Another perk that helps justify the additional ticket price is the included refreshments.
Guests attending Disney After Hours receive complimentary ice cream novelties, popcorn, and bottled beverages during the event. Rather than stopping to purchase snacks throughout the evening, visitors can simply grab participating treats while they move from attraction to attraction.
While those snacks alone don’t make up the cost of admission, they do add value to an event that’s designed to feel different from a traditional park day. Combined with lighter crowds and extended nighttime access, they’re part of the experience Disney has built around the After Hours program.
There Are Still Opportunities Left
Fortunately for anyone who missed the August 5 event, the season isn’t over yet.
Disney still has several Hollywood Studios After Hours dates available through September. Remaining events are currently scheduled for:
- August 12 — $169
- August 19 — $159
- August 26 — $159
- September 2 — $155
- September 12 — $155
The pricing gradually drops as the season progresses, giving guests a chance to attend at a slightly lower price than the sold-out August 5 event. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can also save $30 per ticket on Hollywood Studios After Hours admission, making the experience a bit more affordable for eligible visitors.
Could More Dates Sell Out?
Now that Hollywood Studios has recorded its first sell-out of the season, it raises an obvious question: will the remaining dates follow?
There’s no guarantee they’ll all reach capacity, but history suggests waiting until the last minute can be risky for specially ticketed Disney events. As Halloween festivities begin ramping up and more guests visit Walt Disney World before the busy fall travel season, demand for nighttime experiences often increases.
Disney After Hours has developed a loyal following because it offers a completely different way to experience the parks. Instead of navigating packed walkways and long attraction lines during the hottest part of the day, guests can enjoy cooler nighttime temperatures, lower crowd levels, and access to many headline attractions in a relatively short amount of time.
For travelers who value maximizing rides over spending an entire day in the parks, it’s easy to see why these events continue attracting attention year after year.
With only a handful of Hollywood Studios dates remaining on the calendar, Disney fans considering the experience may not want to wait too long. If the first sell-out is any indication, availability could begin disappearing faster as the 2026 Disney After Hours season comes to a close.
