Updated China World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT
On August 9, WDWNT reported that Walt Disney World Resort had reopened one of the two dining areas at the Lotus Blossom Café that had been closed since early July. Before the right half of the Quick-Service dining location closed, the left half reopened from a refurbishment of its own.
Overnight, Walt Disney World Resort removed the rolling planters that blocked the indoor-outdoor dining area on the right side of the Lotus Blossom Café for over a month, revealing the refurbished space. The refurbishment appears to have focused mostly on the flooring. Disney replaced small, dark brown tiles with larger, bright beige tiles–the same flooring that appeared on the left side of the dining area when it reopened earlier this summer.
Otherwise, both dining areas appear to be mostly the same as before the refurbishment closure. The same cross-shaped orange lights hang over the same rectangular tables and silver metal chairs, in what appears to be the same arrangement as before.
Walt Disney World Resort may have cleaned and refreshed decorative elements throughout the space, such as the calligraphy panels, mosaic tiles, and teal trim along the ceiling. However, the room design has not changed.
Lotus Blossom Café continued to serve guests throughout both dining area refurbishments this summer. During the closures, Walt Disney World Resort installed extra picnic tables and benches in walkways throughout the China World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT, but those were removed when the right-side dining area reopened this weekend.
