Earlier this week, Walt Disney World Resort guests reported that the Magic Kingdom Resort Monorail was evacuated after a service animal suffered a medical emergency and later died on board.

On Tuesday night, Reddit user u/wishy_washy66 posted on the Walt Disney World subreddit, asking about an incident they experienced on the Magic Kingdom Resort Monorail. They said another woman on board “started screaming” shortly before everyone was evacuated from the tram. At the time, neither Disney cast members nor other guests had shared any information about the incident.

In the comments, several other Central Florida Disney Park guests and/or cast members shared more information about the tragic situation. According to u/Weird-Toe-6968, a guest’s service dog “overheated” on board the Monorail.

Sadly, another commenter confirmed that the animal died. It’s unclear whether it suffered from any other medical conditions besides heat stroke/exhaustion.

“Unfortunately it died,” u/Hockey_is_Life wrote. “Very tragic indeed. I laid in bed crying for hours on end last night. I can hardly eat anything today, I feel so sick about it.”

Walt Disney World Resort did not comment publicly on the alleged death of a service dog on the Magic Kingdom Resort Monorail. As of the time of this article’s finalization, Monorail service between Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC), Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort was operating normally.

Inside the Magic sends condolences to the family of the service animal who passed on the Walt Disney World Monorail and thoughts to other theme park guests and cast members affected by the tragic incident.
