Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026) is swinging into theaters in just under two weeks, and we still have no idea who Sadie Sink is playing in the new movie.
Though there are a few theories as to which Marvel character she’ll be suiting up as, with the most popular being the telepathic mutant Jean Grey (which would make sense seeing as the new film is will be followed by the epic ensemble Avengers: Doomsday, which will bring several X-Men characters when it releases in theaters this December), the truth is, we don’t actually know.

Who Is Sadie Sink in Spider-Man?
Across a number of recent interviews as part of the pre-release press tour, the Stranger Things star has been expertly secretive on her role (it’s rather impressive, although she says the trick is simply “just don’t tell people”!).
But who is Sadie Sink playing? Well, the trailers don’t reveal much—her mysterious character can be seen in a hooded outfit, but that’s it.

Some fans think she could be the character Mayday Parker, the future daughter of Peter Parker and MJ from an alternate reality, while others suggest that she could be Black Cat.
Confirmed characters appearing in the film include Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson (Zendaya), Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), Frank Castle/Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).
Sink, 24, rose to fame playing Hawkins teen Max Mayfield in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, which concluded with its fifth season last year. Since debuting on the show, she has appeared in acclaimed projects such as Netflix’s Fear Street Part Two: 1978 (2021) and Fear Street Part Three: 1666 (2021), and Darren Aronofsky’s Oscar-winning film The Whale (2022).
Now, she’s getting her breakout Marvel role in Brand New Day, the fourth film in the MCU Spider-Man series, following Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021).

Sadie Sink Would Be Perfect as THIS Character
Regardless of who Sink plays in the Spider-Man sequel, there’s one character she’d be perfect for in another franchise: Channel Six reporter April O’Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Conveniently, there’s a live-action TMNT reboot in the works that’s set for release on November 17, 2028. Neal H Moritz of the Sonic the Hedgehog trilogy is on board as producer, and Paramount reportedly wants to recapture the success of its video game adaptation film series.

While no cast members are attached to the project, Sadie Sink would make a perfect April. Not only does she already have the signature red hair—one of the character’s most identifiable traits throughout the franchise’s history (along with her yellow jumpsuit)—but her acting skills also make her a worthy contender to lead a film where she’s one of the primary human characters.
Sure, it’s wishful thinking, but occasionally, fan casting ends up aligning with studio decisions, as Sink previously revealed during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon that her casting in Brand New Day came after fans speculated that she was set to appear in the film.
Shortly after she discovered the online theories, she said she was approached to star in the project. “I found out through online theories,” she said. “Before I got cast in Spider-Man, there was speculation online that said ‘Sadie Sink’s going to be in the new Spider-Man‘. I was like, ‘Huh? I am?’ And then sure enough, like, yeah, two days later, they asked me to do it.”
