A former Disneyland Resort cast member has spoken out about one of the strangest things she experienced while working at the Haunted Mansion attraction. According to the former Southern California Disney Park employee, a guest reportedly urinated in her Doom Buggy when she was forced to wait her turn to evacuate the broken-down New Orleans Square ride.
Haunted Mansion Evacuation Gone Horribly Wrong

A few weeks ago, stand-up comedian and former Disneyland Resort cast member Ashley Lindsay shared a clip from one of her shows on Instagram. In the video, Lindsay recalled the time a guest begged her to use the bathroom during an evacuation of the Haunted Mansion.
According to Lindsay, cast members were evacuating each Doom Buggy in order, unlocking the safety restraints, and gathering Disney Park guests in a safe area before walking out of the Haunted Mansion in a line. Partway through the process, a woman a few Doom Buggys away got Lindsay’s attention.
“She goes, ‘Excuse me! I need to go to the bathroom. I really need to go to the bathroom,'” Lindsay recalled. “I’m like, okay, sure, that makes sense. I feel like there’s some flexibility to these rules, right?”

The former Disney cast member bent down to unlock the guest’s Doom Buggy when one of her leaders spotted her on the ride‘s security cameras. She instructed Lindsay over the attraction’s PA system to resume evacuating the Doom Buggy in order, not allowing the woman who had to use the bathroom out first.
“My lead’s watching me, and she yells, ‘Ashley, what are you doing? Go back to the regular order of how you’re supposed to let people out,'” Lindsay explained. “While she can talk to me, I can’t talk to her. A PA system only goes one way. So I have to sign to her what’s going on.”
The former Disney cast member then imitated the signals she used to attempt to inform her supervisor that the woman in that particular Doom Buggy needed to use the restroom. Unfortunately, the leader didn’t understand, and it led to what was maybe the worst possible outcome.

“She goes, ‘Ashley, stop dancing and go back to where you were,'” Lindsay said. “I’m walking back to where I’m supposed to go, and then I hear behind me the same woman who was stuck in the first Buggy go, ‘Well, I’m peeing. I’m peeing now. Well, I’m peeing. I’m sitting in a puddle of my own pee.'”
Lindsay wasn’t sure how to respond.
I literally sat down on the floor of the Haunted Mansion,” she recalled. “…I just put my head in my hands, and I gave up. I couldn’t do it anymore.”

“At that point, my lead did come down to see for herself what was going on,” Lindsay continued. “I got sent on an early lunch, and I was never asked to evacuate the ride ever again.”
It’s unclear whether the guest involved faced consequences from Disneyland Resort. No doubt, specially trained custodial teams were called, and the Haunted Mansion shutdown almost certainly lasted longer than it would have if the guest had not urinated in her Doom Buggy.
