Walt Disney World Resort has installed new construction equipment blocking portions of the exterior of The Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This update comes almost a month after Inside the Magic initially reported that a refurbishment seemed to be underway on the outside of the iconic Table Service dining location.

On July 13, WDWNT reported that Walt Disney World Resort had installed support poles along the patio of The Hollywood Brown Derby, which is home to the Brown Derby Lounge. The outlet shared this photo of the updated Table Service dining exterior, which is currently blocked off by several rolling planters.

Last month, restaurant cast members reportedly told WDWNT that Walt Disney World Resort planned to install a permanent shade structure on the patio, replacing the movable umbrellas that previously shaded the outdoor dining area. The support poles that were installed this week seem to corroborate what those cast members claimed.

The Brown Derby Lounge offers a menu of small bites and many of the same drinks offered at The Hollywood Brown Derby. According to Walt Disney World Resort’s website, the dining location is still operating and welcoming Walt Disney World Resort guests. However, due to ongoing construction, outdoor seating is very limited and available only on the smaller patio on the other side of the building.

Walt Disney World Resort has not commented publicly on the ongoing exterior refurbishment of The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The indoor Table Service dining location continues to operate normally, and reservations are strongly recommended. Booking opens up 60 days before your planned visit, online or over the phone.

Have you noticed any other refurbishment projects at the Central Florida Disney parks? Inside the Magic would love to hear from you in the comments!
