Credit: UniversalUniversal Studios seems to have inadvertently confirmed the opening date for its next record-breaking attraction.
Universal Studios Hollywood is accelerating toward the debut of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a new high-speed roller coaster inspired by the long-running action franchise.
The new ride – Universal’s first high-speed outdoor roller coaster – will reach speeds of up to 72 mph and feature rotating ride vehicles designed to simulate drifting. Its arrival follows the closure of Fast & Furious – Supercharged on the Universal Studio Tour, with Universal shifting its focus to a larger, more ambitious Fast & Furious experience.
Recent weeks have seen extensive testing, with riders sporadically spotted on the attraction during park opening hours.
Until now, Universal had only confirmed that the attraction would open in summer 2026. However, it appears the resort may have accidentally revealed a more specific opening date.
Opening Date Leaked for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift
Earlier today, Universal Studios Hollywood added a release date to the official page for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift.
This confirmed that the attraction will open on June 26, 2026.

While the date has since been scrubbed from the site, it seems safe to assume that we now have a precise timeframe for when guests can expect to experience Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift for the first time.
Slightly less clear is the opening timeframe for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Florida.

As confirmed in January, Universal Studios Florida is also building its own version of the Fast & Furious coaster. Construction began earlier this year and is now well underway, with the attraction replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit after the ride’s closure.
Although the Florida version won’t be identical to Hollywood Drift, it will feature similar spinning ride vehicles capable of rotating 360 degrees. The Orlando coaster will also include a towering 170-foot vertical spike positioned near Universal CityWalk.
When Universal Studios Hollywood’s version opens, it will feature four ride vehicles inspired by cars from the Fast & Furious franchise: Dominic Toretto’s Dodge Charger, Han’s Mazda RX-7, Brian O’Conner’s Nissan Skyline GT-R, and Brian’s orange Toyota Supra.
Each vehicle has been customized to match its movie counterpart, from the Charger’s muscular black design to the Supra’s bright orange paintwork.
