Excitement for Wednesday Season 3 continues to build as Netflix moves forward with the next chapter of its hit supernatural series. Following the success of the show’s first two seasons, fans are eager to see what comes next for Wednesday Addams and the strange mysteries surrounding Nevermore and beyond.

But along with the growing anticipation comes some disappointing news. As more details about Season 3 emerge, several familiar faces will not be making the journey back. While some departures were expected, others mark the end of storylines that once played major roles in the series. The result is a noticeably smaller cast surrounding Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday as the show heads into its next era.

Where Season 2 Left Off and What Comes Next

Before looking at the departures, it’s worth revisiting where the story currently stands.

Season 2 expanded the show’s mythology significantly, introducing new threats, deeper family connections, and fresh mysteries for Wednesday to solve. By the finale, several major character arcs remained unresolved, setting the stage for another season filled with danger and supernatural intrigue.

One of the biggest cliffhangers involved Enid Sinclair, whose fate appears set to become a major focus moving forward. Early details about Season 3 suggest that Wednesday will search for Enid and work to restore her humanity. That mission could drive much of the upcoming storyline while introducing new dangers along the way.

At the same time, Netflix has hinted at more Addams Family drama, larger-scale supernatural mysteries, and the gothic storytelling style closely associated with executive producer and director Tim Burton.

A Season 2 Addition Will Not Return

The first confirmed loss is Bruno Yuson, played by Noah B. Taylor.

Bruno became part of the show’s expanding ensemble during Season 2, but his storyline ultimately created tension between himself and Enid. Their complicated relationship generated drama throughout the season, and by the time the story reached its conclusion, there was little indication that Bruno’s arc would continue much further.

As a result, Netflix has confirmed that Bruno will not return for Season 3. While some fans hoped his story might continue, the character’s departure appears directly tied to the way his relationship with Enid ended in the previous season.

His exit removes one of the newer additions from the cast and allows the show to focus more heavily on the central characters moving forward.

An Original Cast Member’s Story Has Officially Ended

Another notable absence is Xavier Thorpe, played by Percy Hynes White.

During Season 1, Xavier was one of the show’s developing love triangles involving Wednesday and Tyler Galpin. His connection to Wednesday created plenty of speculation among viewers about where the relationship might eventually lead.

However, Xavier never returned for Season 2.

The departure came after White faced anonymous allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment online. The actor denied the allegations, but Xavier was ultimately removed from the series as Season 2 moved forward.

The show addressed his absence directly through dialogue. New Nevermore principal Barry Dort revealed that Xavier had transferred to the Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland, effectively writing the character out of the story.

With Xavier gone and no plans for a return, the original love triangle from Season 1 has officially come to an end. Season 3 appears ready to move beyond that storyline entirely.

Familiar Favorites and New Faces Are Joining the Cast

Even with a few notable departures, Season 3 will still feature many of the characters fans know and love.

Netflix has confirmed the return of Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), along with Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers).

The Addams Family will once again play a larger role, with Catherine Zeta-Jones returning as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez reprising his role as Pugsley Addams.

Other returning cast members include Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen), Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan), Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday), Ajax Petropolus (Georgie Farmer), and Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley).

Several additions are joining the cast as well. Eva Green has been confirmed as Aunt Ophelia Frump, while Winona Ryder will appear in a mysterious role named Tabitha.

And of course, fans can expect Thing to return, once again portrayed by Victor Dorobantu.

A New Setting and Bigger Mysteries Await

Beyond the cast changes, several major story details have already surfaced.

One of the biggest developments is the show’s planned move to Paris. The new setting should give the series a fresh backdrop while maintaining its dark gothic atmosphere.

The search for Enid and the effort to help her regain her human form are expected to play central roles in the upcoming story. At the same time, viewers can look forward to more Addams Family conflicts, supernatural threats, and the quirky horror-comedy tone that has helped make the series such a massive success.

Netflix also appears committed to leaning even further into the spooky visual style associated with Burton’s creative influence.

Looking Ahead to Season 3

While losing characters like Bruno Yuson and Xavier Thorpe will undoubtedly disappoint some fans, Season 3 still looks packed with potential. The returning cast remains strong, several intriguing newcomers are joining the story, and the move to Paris could open the door to entirely new mysteries.

With Wednesday continuing to evolve into one of Netflix’s biggest franchises, expectations are understandably high. If the series can balance its supernatural storytelling, family drama, and gothic humor, Season 3 could become its most ambitious season yet.

For now, fans will have to wait a little longer. Wednesday Season 3 is currently expected to premiere sometime in mid-to-late 2027, but the excitement surrounding Nevermore’s favorite outcast is already building.
