Walt Disney World Resort appears to be preparing for a refurbishment of the Germany Pavilion in the World Showcase at EPCOT. Let’s take a look at how this could impact your next visit to the Central Florida Disney parks.
Germany World Showcase Pavilion Refurbishment at EPCOT

On June 23, WDWNT reported that signs of an upcoming refurbishment of the Stein Haus facade in the Germany World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. Rolling planters, scrim fabric, and scaffolding now block the main entrance to the merchandise location.
The rolling planters block much of the main entrance to Stein Haus and connect to a construction wall behind a nearby flowerbed. A small section of scaffolding, covered in scrim and with four extending poles also covered in scrim, sits behind the construction walls. An identical section of scaffolding peeks over the rolling planters near the “Weinkeller” entrance to the shop. Disney is likely preparing the facade for an exterior refurbishment.

Despite clear signs of upcoming construction, the merchandise location remains open through alternate entrances, such as the “Weinkeller” facade. Stein Haus sells Germany-themed Disney merchandise and imported goods, including, as the name suggests, beer steins.
The gift shop is typically open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., though its hours may vary based on EPCOT’s operating hours. The most accurate information is available on the Walt Disney World Resort website or the My Disney Experience app.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t issued a statement about this refurbishment or indicated how long it may take. Disney rarely comments publicly on construction that doesn’t force the closure of attractions, restaurants, merchandise locations, or other guest experiences.
