Disney has made some necessary changes to one parade today.
While Disney parks across the globe have considerably fewer parades than they did in decades past (remember when Hollywood Studios had its own parade? And Animal Kingdom?), they’re still a staple at its castle parks.

As of 2026, guests can enjoy parades such as Festival of Fantasy at Magic Kingdom, Paint the Night at Disneyland Park, and Disney Harmony in Color at Tokyo Disneyland.
When necessary, Disney can ā and does ā make operational changes to these parades. For example, heavy rain will often lead to a cavalcade replacement for a park’s primary parade. In some extreme cases, parades are scrapped altogether.

Today, Disney has adjusted to the extreme heat by stripping all costumed characters from the parade ā except three.
Disney Makes Necessary Parade Adjustments
Disney Stars on Parade has eliminated all costumed characters from today’s performance, with the exception of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Frozen‘s Olaf.
With the likes of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Captain Hook, and Rafiki out of the picture, that means guests could otherwise only see face characters such as Elsa, Peter Pan, and Mary Poppins, as well as the parade’s dancers.

The changes come as Disneyland Paris experiences extreme heat. Parts of France ā including Seine-et-Marne, where you’ll find both Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World ā are currently under a severe high temperature warning. As of 2:45 p.m. CEST, it is 90 degrees Fahrenheit at the parks.
For context, the average high in Paris in June is 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
Temperatures are set to soar even higher, hitting a predicted 104 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday. That means guests can expect further alterations to the parks’ daytime entertainment.

Similarly, Walt Disney World Resort is also currently under an excessive heat warning. With Florida experiencing similar temperatures on a more regular basis, its parades don’t typically feature similar alterations, although this is always subject to change.
Last year, a cast member at Shanghai Disneyland collapsed from suspected heatstroke during a parade at the theme park. The performer ā who was dressed as Tigger at the time ā had to be cooled by guests while awaiting assistance.
