Recent Incidents at Walt Disney World Resort

Operational disruptions and emergency incidents are not uncommon at Walt Disney World. With tens of millions of guests visiting the resort each year, everything from traffic accidents and transportation issues to medical emergencies occasionally occurs across the property.

Earlier this month, emergency responders were called to the Transportation and Ticket Center and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort areaĀ following reports of a near-drowning incident near the Transportation and Ticket Center. Authorities investigated the situation, though few details have been released publicly.

Guest-related incidents have also made headlines in recent weeks. In May, a woman was arrested following an alleged altercation over restaurant seating at Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s Steakhouse 71. Authorities said the dispute escalated into a confrontation involving both a cast member and a manager, with the guest throwing “multiple glasses of water.”

The guest allegedly broke four glasses during the incident. According to authorities, she told deputies she had overheard cast members discussing her disabled daughter’s interactions with employees at Steakhouse 71. She also admitted to throwing water at a Disney duty manager and taking his nametag, claiming she needed it to identify him for a complaint..

Transportation incidents have surfaced before as well. In December 2025, multiple Disney transport buses were involved in a crash on Buena Vista Drive, one of the resort’s main roadways, causing significant vehicle damage and traffic disruption.
