Until at least June 13, many Disney fans will not be able to enjoy the music from The Lion King (1994). Here’s what fans of the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic need to know.

Disneyland Paris Resort previously announced that The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands show would close for refurbishment from May 4 to June 12, 2026. The show is currently scheduled to reopen on June 13, though that could change depending on the project timeline.

As of May 5, the Frontierland Theater is closed, and the area around it is quiet. X (formerly known as Twitter) user @PixiedustDLP recently shared these photos from Disneyland Park:

The Frontierland Theater is currently closed, The Lion King Rhythms of the Pride Lands will return on June 13, 2026. 🦁 #DisneylandParis

The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands is a 30-minute live performance celebrating the music and story of the 1994 classic starring talented dancers, acrobats, and singers. It features dazzling talent and breathtaking costume designs inspired by the animated film and its subsequent stage adaptations. It originally opened in 2019 and includes performances of “Circle of Life,” “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Be Prepared,” “Hakuna Matata,” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”.

Disneyland Paris Resort has only said that the show is on a “scheduled break” through mid-June and hasn’t shared any plans to update the show or its home, the Frontierland Theater. This is most likely a simple refurbishment, and Disneyland Park guests probably won’t notice any major changes to the experience when it reopens on June 13.

Other opportunities to enjoy the music of The Lion King include Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Hong Kong Disneyland, and Disney on Broadway’s “The Lion King” in New York City and on tour around the world.
