Over the last few months, Inside the Magic has been following the exterior overhaul of the LEGO Store in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. As of our team’s most recent update on April 27, the merchandise location had revealed the themes for two new statues in yellow-and-white brick-shaped window frames outside the building: Frozen (2013) and Marvel Studios’ The Avengers.

This week, Southern California Disney Park guests finally got a sneak peek at a third statue coming to the LEGO Store. All three were installed after the Disneyland Resort merchandise location removed the original Toy Story (1995) sculpture, which had been outside the building since it debuted alongside the Downtown Disney District in 2001.

On May 11, Laughing Place reported that a new statue inspired by Star Wars had been installed in the previously empty yellow-and-white frame closest to the previously revealed Avengers display. It depicts Chewbacca piloting the AT-ST from Return of the Jedi (1983) against a printed backdrop of the forests of Endor. The outlet shared this photo on X (formerly known as Twitter):

It’s unclear whether the LEGO Store at the Downtown Disney District plans to install any additional statues on the exterior of the building or whether new Buzz and Woody figures will return to replace the original sculpture removed earlier this year. The merchandise location hasn’t announced an end date for the exterior refurbishment, but it remains open to Southern California Disney Park guests throughout construction.
