Earthquake Warning at Tokyo Disneyland
On April 1, TikTok user @shiori_japan1 was standing near Cinderella Castle at Tokyo Disneyland when her phone lit up with an earthquake warning. She shared this video of everyone at the Japanese theme park crouching on the ground, as Disney cast members in the background instructed families to find a safe place to shelter immediately:

“Everyone’s earthquake alerts went off at the same time,” the TikToker wrote. “When they heard the alert, everyone crouched down on the spot. We crouch down on the spot and wait for the shaking. It’s not shaking, so it looks like we’re okay this time.”
Even when the coast was clear and no shaking hit the park, families stayed on the ground for a moment.
“Everybody’s sitting down, calming down,” the Disney Park guest said in the video.
Eventually, Disney cast members informed guests that the threat had passed and that the tremor felt elsewhere in Tokyo hadn’t affected the theme park.
“The staff said it was safe, and everyone went back to normal all at once,” the TikTok user wrote. “Everyone stayed calm and handled it really well.”
In the comments, another Tokyo Disney Resort guest shared how the park managed the safety of visitors riding attractions during the earthquake alert.
“I was there too! On Star Tours,” @sharleatherwood wrote. “They made us stay on the ride and kept us bucked in. We stayed on the ride for about 10 minutes then they let us off…Normal day after that.”
No damage was reported at Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, the Ikspiari shopping center, or the Japanese Disney Resort hotels following the April 1 earthquake.
