Walt Disney World has a specific period each year that experienced visitors know about and carefully plan around, which may not be obvious to most casual theme park fans. While summer is widely regarded as a peak season due to its heat, crowds, and higher prices, the weeks leading up to summer offer conditions that can be particularly appealing for attentive guests.

May at Walt Disney World is a prime time, as the spring crowds have decreased following the Easter peak, the intense Florida summer heat has not yet arrived in full force, and the resort typically runs promotions to attract visitors. These promotions often include deals and perks designed to fill hotel rooms and park gates before the summer rush begins.

May 2026 is poised to offer an abundance of perks at Walt Disney World, including exclusive offers, dining discounts, hotel savings, free tickets, and Passholder benefits. These options can significantly lower vacation costs for savvy travelers. There are nine confirmed exclusive perks designed for both Annual Passholders and first-time visitors managing budgets. Before finalizing your travel plans, review what’s available and how to make the most of it.

V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days

Annual Passholders get the first major perk of the month with V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days beginning May 1 and running through July 31. The event brings exclusive new Passholder merchandise, food and beverage offerings, a special collectible magnet, and increased discounts throughout the summer. The headline discount is up to 40 percent off meals and non-alcoholic beverages at select Disney World restaurants on select days, which is one of the steepest dining discounts Disney has offered its Annual Pass holders in years and represents significant real-world savings for guests who eat inside the parks regularly.

Early Theme Park Entry

Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels and other participating hotels receive Early theme park Entry, which allows them to enter the parks 30 minutes before official opening time every day of their stay. Select attractions are available during this window, and the extra 30 minutes at the front of the day consistently delivers some of the shortest wait times guests will experience on any given visit.

Extended Evening Theme Park Hours

Guests staying at Deluxe Disney World hotels and other participating properties can access Extended Evening Hours on select nights, providing additional time in specific parks after regular closing time. Like Early Entry, select attractions operate during this window, and the combination of fewer guests and extended hours creates an environment where popular rides become genuinely accessible without the daytime wait times attached.

Free Water Park Ticket

Beginning May 26 and running through September 8, Disney World hotel guests receive a complimentary water park ticket for every member of their group on their arrival day. The ticket provides access to one of Disney World’s water parks at no additional cost, which is a meaningful added value for families checking in during that window who want to make the most of their arrival day before official park touring begins.

Free Dining Plan for Kids

Guests staying at Disney World hotels can book a vacation package that includes an adult dining plan and receive a complimentary dining plan for children aged 3 to 9 through October 2026. This offer can be combined with select special promotions, providing additional savings that can significantly reduce the overall cost of a Disney vacation for families with young children.

4-Day 4-Park Magic Theme Park Ticket

A 4-Day 4-Park Magic Ticket is available for travel dates from May 26 through October 3, starting at $109 per day. The ticket provides access to all four Walt Disney World theme parks across a four-day window and must be used within seven days of the chosen start date. Tickets for travel through October 3 must be purchased by September 27.

Save Up to 30% Off Hotel Rooms

Guests who book hotel stays at Disney World between May 1 and October 4 can save up to 30% on room rates for stays of five or more consecutive nights. For stays of one to four nights, savings of up to 25% are available. The specific discount varies depending on the hotel and the length of the stay, but it generally applies across the entire Disney resort portfolio.

Annual Passholders Save Up to 40% Off Hotels

Annual Passholders can access an elevated hotel discount of up to 40% off Disney World hotels on most nights from May 1 through July 29 for stays of four or more nights. The enhanced discount stacks on top of the standard hotel savings available to non-passholders and applies to the resort’s hotel offerings, subject to availability.

After 2 PM Ticket Theme Park Offer

Guests willing to limit their park time to afternoons and evenings can access a discounted After 2 p.m. ticket for dates starting May 26 through July 29. The ticket is available in 2-day and 3-day configurations, with the 2-day option starting at $118 per day and the 3-day option starting at $116 per day. Each ticket provides admission to one park per day after 2 p.m. and does not require a theme park reservation.

Nine perks. One month. Walt Disney World in May 2026 is offering more reasons to book than it has in a while, and most guests planning summer trips are unaware of everything on the table right now.
