Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on April 9, law enforcement responded to a vehicle crash with injuries near the intersection of EPCOT Center Drive and East Buena Vista Drive at Walt Disney World Resort. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime shared the call log on X (formerly known as Twitter), showing just how close the collision was to EPCOT:

🚓 Traffic Alert – 04/09/26 12:45 am

In response, one Walt Disney World Resort guest reported that the Southbound lanes on EPCOT Center Drive had been completely closed, and traffic was at a standstill. From @bananahotcocoa:

Epcot Center Dr Southbound is completely stopped, I was able to pass it bc I was on the on-ramp and could use the shoulder

Walt Disney World Resort did not issue any public statements about the crash, which isn’t unusual. Likewise, law enforcement hasn’t shared any information about those hurt in the crash; typically, subsequent medical information is kept private except in cases with fatalities or when anyone involved chooses to identify themselves publicly.

Despite the lane closures near EPCOT in the early morning hours of April 9, traffic patterns appear to have returned to normal. Walt Disney World Resort guests shouldn’t expect any delays or closures on roads near the second Central Florida theme park going forward.

Guests who encounter law enforcement activity should follow any signage or verbal instructions from authorities and Disney cast members. Walt Disney World Resort does its best to reduce the impact of any police activity on its property on nearby guests.

The Inside the Magic team sends our thoughts to those involved in the collision on EPCOT Center Drive on Thursday.
