When I went some years ago, you can either go on the full spin version of mission space or the no spin version the mission space. I chose the no spin version, which was a little underwhelming. The graphics are already outdated by that point and getting yourself into a very tight compartment just to look at some graphics until back a little just wasn’t that exciting or worth the wait. Perhaps Disney should slow down the spin version so that you get some sort of sensation of g-forces but not nearly enough to get sick.
That said, mission space is a great example of what is horribly and drastically wrong with the current Disney management. They think that great creating more intense thrill rides will impress guests, however, Disney is always been about the story and they apparently do NOT know how to write a story anymore. All you have to do to prove that one is to look at they’re terrible track record in the movies over the last few years. The best thing that the stockholders can do is to fire everyone on the management team for Disney and everyone on the board of directors and then replace them all with people who share the visions and values of Walt Disney. They won’t like that because they’re a bunch of leftists wokesters but that’s really what people want.
Now let’s see if they actually let me post this. I think they’ve been blocking me coming up because I said anything wrong or threatening or hurtful, but because I tell the truth.
It was intense and yes I was dizzy and nauseous for a bit after. I sat down for a bit, had some water and recovered. Then went about the rest of my day there. Anyone with balance issues, vertigo and prone to any kind of motion sickness should avoid the high intensity side. To be fair they have warnings but I was dragged by a person in my party who I should’ve ignored lol.
We ride it back when there was only one version. Afterward we lay on benches for hours as sick as I can’t even describe. I was so glad when they made the less intense version. My niece and nephew still love the thrill side and I’m glad for them that they can do it, and I’m glad for me because I can still have the experience without turning green for hours.
This is one of the most unique and best thrill ride in any park. It’s a shame Disney fans are going to get it cancelled. There is very little to patronage Disney Parks. A Muppet Coaster now? I’m not a fan of Aerosmith, but come on!
This is so stupid. Just say you hate rides that do WHATS LEGITIMATELY exactly what it says in the name and description. This is why Disney is delicining because of “fans” wanting everything that they dont like to be removed. A theme park needs rides are are thrilling mission space and space mountain are two of the many rides that give you that type of adrenaline if you cant handle it dont get on…? They tell you space mission orange will give you ALL of those side effects, I personally get dizzy for two seconds and thats all but this is overly dramatic because Disney should be made of rides for everyone. If your CHILD cant handle dont take them on it simple as that. With Disneys bull crap of removing and shutting down for revamp on GOOD rides when they haven’t even finished one is gonna make people cancel their tickets or not even renewing them. (Like me because its so much failures i rather keep paying for busch gardens and seaworld and then get universal seeing as they around the stupidity level disney is.)
This is nothing new. It’s been that way since the ride opened. When they realized how many people were nauseous or getting sick, they created a second one that wasn’t as intense. Get with the program people.
I’ve been riding this ride since the park opened. It is my favorite ride of all time. Never had any problems with dissiness or nausea. Still riding it at age 71. It is awesome!
Absolutely silly that this discussion is still going on, much less being treated as a new thing. It’s a spinny ride. A spinny ride in the dark with screens, which can trigger motion sickness in those prone to it. If you’re not one of those, this ride is about as intense as the average tilt-a-whirl. If you are, good thing green side is right there.
This culture these days always want to find something to complain about!! This ride clearly has 2 options which gives you a choice to choose a mild experience or a realistic one. The realistic experience warns you of the intensity of the ride. Someone choosing to ride that side also chooses the affects it has on your body. I ride the intense side every time I go on the ride and my 5 year old daughter always wants to ride that side and she loves it. Yes I too get a little dizzy from riding it, but it also gives me a feeling of what astronaut go through just to be able to go into space. If feel that Disney should keep the ride as it is and just say hey, if you can’t take the heat, don’t go in the kitchen!!!
Bunch of freaking babies. This ride about about 26 yrs ago. Only one side. The adjusted after many became very ill after riding. I for one. I didn’t complain, make a fuss. I just didn’t go back on 6 more times that day with my hubby and child. When they finally opened the other side I went on it. I’m quite a bit older and can’t do this attraction anymore. Wish I could
This has always been my favorite ride since it opened. Im 77 years old and rode it till I was 74. I had a mild stroke so I don’t dare ride anymore. I’ still miss it. It’s the closest thing to actually experience what it’s like to ride a rocket
I hated roller coaster attractions as a kid and now as young senior, I still do. It’s nice when they offer a calmer ride option, but rare. You miss all the wonderful Disney magic when things are winning by so fast!
I love Mission Space and still salute its innovativeness. Former NASA Astronaut Eugene Cernan, one of the last men on the moon, was at its grand opening and said the experience is the closest thing to going into space without going into space. May Astronaut Cernan RIP. I am older now and know I should not ride the full intensity side of Mission Space, so I don’t. When I did ride it in the past, I did not get sick or dizzy but was a bit disoriented for a few minutes afterwards. I still think its a cool attraction and Disney should not change anything regarding the motion aspects. Updating the graphics is welcome if done in a high quality manner.

Green! Always pick green! It’s been like this since it opened. They’re not going to change it because it didn’t work for them.

This ride has been around for DECADES. They have always, almost since the day it opened, told riders that it Is intense. The intensity is NOT NEW
